  1. I emailed my POI at the end of February and they said they were still in deliberations and that no decisions had been made up until that point. I noticed too that they are very late notifiers, but I was unsure on whether or not they had an interview week this year. This is my top choice, and I cannot believe it has taken this long to hear back from them, especially since the application deadline was December 1st! Hopefully, we'll hear something within the next few days. If it goes to the end of the week, I'll be sure to remove them from my list of potential schools. There is no way they would allow potential students only one week to make a decision. This sucks. Anyone hear back from Texas A&M Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience program? I haven't heard from them either. Wake up, Texas!
  2. Has anyone heard back from UT Austin Behavioral Neuroscience? Or know if they had an interview weekend?
  3. I applied for cognitive and my status says "decision made," but there is no actual decision on my file. Just a heads up.
  4. I have yet to hear from any schools. This is driving me insane.
  5. B.A Psychology/Political Science from small liberal arts school M.A General Psychology Rutgers University Research interests: Comparative cognition, associative learning/Pavlovian conditioning. Applying to Brown, UCLA, Minnesota, CUNY, UNH, Tufts, UT Austin, Texas A&M, TCU, and Duke.
  6. I am applying to cognitive/neuroscience programs as well. I am currently a master's student studying human discrimination learning within an associative learning paradigm. I do not have any publications yet, but I have three that are in preparation and near completion. I limited myself to 10 schools total, all of which are very good fits. I am assuming we will be hearing back from schools within the next few weeks. I'll be sure to send along any updates I receive using this thread. Good luck to everyone!
  7. Applying to a program blind isn't a great idea. You have to contact professors beforehand to know if they are accepting students or not. I contacted about 20 total, 6 or 7 of which were not in a position to accept students. By emailing potential advisors I have had 3 informal phone interviews, 2 informal interviews, and some great online conversations. I was also able to get in contact with a few POIs at conferences. Of course, I would not recommend emailing potential advisors now, given that virtually all deadlines have passed.
