I is stressed *Non-Judgmental Space for PhD Applicants*

I guess there are positives to both ways! But try to relax (I know easier said than done) and you'll do great! If your POI wasn't interested you wouldn't be there. So chin up

I wouldn't worry about it! You are still interviewing with them and that's what matters! Plus it will help you get out some of your nerves having more time to be acquainted with other faculty members. I haven't received my interview schedule and they said I won't until that morning. Talk about stressful

I is stressed *Non-Judgmental Space for PhD Applicants*

I have my only interview on Saturday and I'm so stressed/nervous/anxious about it I have no idea how I'm going to focus on anything else this week. AHHHHH

    Fall 2019 Psychology PhD Applicants!

Getting more research experience is always a good idea! Some research jobs require a minimum of 2 year commitment so I would recommend asking about that during your interviews. Of course word it in a way that doesn't seem like you'll peace out ASAP. I've always found working in a research position really helps to hone your interests and makes you seem like that much more of a serious candidate in the future. Good luck!

If it is legit the person should definitely NOT go into clinical psych...imagine having a therapy session with someone so narcissistic? Oooph.

I only saw some of the fight but I agree, people need to take a chill pill. Although apparently clinical psych PhD admissions are extra brutal hence the aggression. 🤷‍♀️

Yale University Clinical Psychology, PhD (F19) Other via Other on 15 Feb 2019 15 Feb 2019 report spam Alright children, get your sh** together. First, to all the haters out there. 4 offer poster has the right to consider their options and choose the program they like the most and they have until April 15th to do so. It is NOT greedy, but yeah, it would be nice if they could decide sooner rather than later. Also @4 offers, listen you entitled sh**, yes, you worked hard and you probably deserve those acceptances but that does not mean that others who did not get the same results did not work as hard or even harder than you did. Be thankful for what you have because grad admissions are quite random. So f you too. SING IT

Post here to get your worries off your chest

Worries: I'm incredibly anxious about my upcoming interview and I am worried that I will blow it. The obstacles I went through during my undergrad negatively affected my GPA and my transcript is all over the place. While I tried to make up for this by first getting my MS and working full time as a research assistant I am afraid I am still not good enough. I'm also afraid that my mind will go blank when I am asked questions and that I will stumble over my words and sound like an idiot. I'm also worried that I am getting too old (I turn 29 next week) and that with each failed round my soul dies a little bit. Excitement: On the other hand I am excited for the opportunity and potential to work with an amazing women and earn my PhD from an amazing school. (not trying to get my hopes up or anything...)

    Fall 2019 Psychology PhD Applicants!

Would turning down an event after the interview day reflect poorly on me? I was just invited to have dinner at a professor's house and members of her lab after all the interview activities are over. It's not the professor I'm interested in working with but she was included in the email. I was planning on going to a nice dinner in the city with my boyfriend afterwards for my birthday (which is three days before the interview). I don't want to cancel and risk harming my chances of being accepted but I was also really looking forward to spending a romantic night after all the craziness. Any thoughts?

Either. On the website of the program I applied to it said they would start reviewing applications January 15th.I haven't found any results from other people on here (or mention of anyone else applying) so I'm having difficulty gauging where they are with the process.
