  1. accepted UofT over Western so those on the waitlist, a spot just opened up at UWO!!
  2. I will also add for those who had high GPA's and did not get an acceptance, try contacting the schools to ask why you did not get accepted. I did this last year and Western in particular was kind enough to tell me the exact reason. UofT does not give out much information but you can try to ask them if they would be able to go through your file and let you know what went wrong. This is really helpful and will let you know the things you may have to work on to make your application more competitive next year! If anyone has other specific questions about stats or anything I did differently to get accepted this year I would be happy to share through PM.
  3. Don't worry! this was me last year. I was rejected to both schools and was extremely discouraged but I went back to school, boosted my gpa, got new clinical references, wrote a new personal statement and got into both UofT and Western this year! If this is what you want then don't give up and don't get discouraged!!
  4. still waiting on UofT (which is also my first choice)!!
  5. for all those that got accepted, do you mind sharing your stats? It's really helpful to see what a successful applicant looks like!
  6. Hi! I know that UofT for sure wants a B+ or above in all the pre-requisite courses (they told me this numerous times because I had the same issue before), but they also said they don't care if you re-take a course as long as you submit a grade of B+ or higher for each pre-requisite. I don't think it matters much for the other schools, Western didn't seem too picky about it and I'm not sure about the other schools since I didn't apply there.
  7. Omg. I'm so happy I read this because this is the exact same reason I wasn't accepted this year. My clinical referee pretty much sabotaged my application and if I had known she would have wrote me a weak reference, I would've never asked her and who knows what my application status would have been!! I'm so concerned that they will look at my application when I re-apply and I'm hoping her reference won't play a role in my acceptance AGAIN. I was devastated when I found out I didn't get it because I knew I had a competitive GPA and great experience but when I found out it was my clinical referee I also felt a bit better (knowing that it wasn't because of my grades or anything). I'm definitely re-applying and I refuse to give up!! I'm going to have a new clinical referee though and I hope that I'm successful the next time around.
  8. I spoke to someone from western and they said they have 36 spots this year.
  9. Congrats to those who got in!! For those who don't mind, could you share your stats for future applicants to get an idea of what they're looking for?
  10. Congrats to everyone who got in! I applied to UofT, Western & McGill. I am SOOO nervous. Does anyone know if ALL your pre-req courses have to be a B+ or above. I'm slightly concerned about one pre-req that is just under a B+, other than that my sGPA, references and volunteer experience is good. Its making so anxious because it's just one course but I don't know Also, does McGill look at your cumulative GPA or sub GPA?
