  1. JulliaJulia - e mail them see if they reached a decision, I know that Hopkins has a waitlist. How long I am not sure but I am aware that they do have a waitlist.
  2. Belafish, I think you put it nicely when you say that this is an exhausting process. The good part is that we are so close to being done. I was accepted over the weekend to Hopkins HBS program. To everyone who applied, CHECK THE WEBSITE they do not always send and e-mail of notification that a decision has been reached. In my case I received notification from the program coordinator and then it was updated on the website but there was no e-mail to tell me a decision had been reached!
  3. I spoke with the grad coordinator in that department who I suggest you should call directly. They provide some funding and for a very limited number of students, full funding.
  4. I want to ask a general question to the forum. What are everone's general expectations for funding? Are people limiting their schools to avenues where funding can be secured or is there a general acceptance that if a school say offers to cover 60-85% of tuition than it is acceptable. I am curious because programs like U Minnesota and Hopkins have programs that do not guarentee funding and in fact provide partal tuition coverage. I have also applied to a number of schools in different disciplines where it is the convention to provide full funding with a generous stipend and health insurance coverage. What are people's thoughts about this? I am already carrying a substantial debt load from gettiing two masters prior to this so I am trying to be as frugal as possible. I would love to hear some guidance.
  5. Let's get this show on the road!
  6. I imagine some of that is true regarding funding from coffers that may be cut off by the sequestration. However, I am pretty sure that some schools such as Hopkins HBS makes admissions decisions separate from funding decisions. It will be pretty crappy either way though if many of these schools lose funding.
  7. I was told march as well for the phd at UMD.
  8. Ugh, This waiting game sucks! Has anyone heard anything from Johns Hopkins HBS program yet? Or how about Columbia?
  9. I spoke with individual faculty members who agreed to research with me at about half of the schools I applied to.
  10. acdelco, I pm'ed you with more information. It was via e-mail.
  11. Hello everyone: This is down to the wire! ahhhhhhhh bit of good news: I got into PITT's doctoral program for Behavioral and Community Health Science this week wahoo! I am so honored and delighted with the opportunity. They have a great program and I am super excited. I look forward to hearing how things shape up in the coming week. I imagine this is the week where stuff gets a' shakin. Good luck everyone!
  12. I agree especially since I am still waiting to hear from other schools and have still visit the schools I was accepted to (SUNY Albany, Rutgers etc.) It seems very soon to expect an answer like that for a 3-5 year commitment. Do you suggest I ask the POI about extending the date?
  13. Congrats mslangil, that is great to hear!!! Today I got Accepted into Northeastern's PhD Program fully funded! They are asking that I confirm or deny my offer by March 8 which seems pretty soon to me. I always thought schools had to wait until April 15th.
  14. I would e-mail the grad coordinator if I were you. Say you are wait-listed if worded right it can express your interest in the program.
  15. I think it is department specific, I e-mailed the coordinator for the department at Hopkins who told me that they do not have an interview process and I noticed on the results page no one posted any information on interviews from hopkins in that department.
  16. Hey Congrats to everyone on their acceptances/interviews thus far. Do you think Sociomedical Dept. interviews ALL candidates who are in the running for an acceptance? I think it is odd that Hopkins' Health Behavior and society PhD program doesn't have an interview process at all.
  17. Good luck everyone! we are down to the wire the next couple weeks and I am hoping for everyone here.
  18. Thanks! The Dean contacted me last week and then followed by his administrative assistant who will be arranging travel details. I am very excited about the opportunity.
  19. Hey MPH(D), I am in the same boat, was contacted for an interview replied w. times and havent heard back yet either. I imagine it is a coordinating nightmare to get everyone in the same room. Good luck!
  20. I got into SUNY Albany Phd Yesterday. Is anyone on here applying to Penn for Criminology and if so have you heard anything, interview etc. They do not publicize much on their cite.
