  1. Great job to those that got it! On to the 3 others I am waiting on. Best of Luck to All!
  2. I think it depends on the department. Many departments will just carry your funding over to the next year. That way you can use the Ford this year, then basically have the next year to use that funding: if you had 4 years of funding + 1 Ford = 5 total years of funding instead of just 4 years through your department. (I think that made sense...if not, my bad). I need to stop checking my email like a crazy person, did this before I got a Fulbright for research... Here is something I have been following as well: http://academicjobs.wikia.com/wiki/Dissertation_Fellowships_2015-2016(they have a section on the Dissertation and Predoc Ford).
  3. Hello All, I wanted to wish everyone good luck, I decided to read through the thread since I was a 2013-2014 Fulbright Grant recipient to Australia. Not sure if I can assist anyone, but feel free to send me a message. From reading the posts, looks like the first round decisions have been made - they ranked the applicants and send them to the host country to review the applicants and make their own rankings. I received my acceptance email/decision at the beginning of April. Best of luck!!!!
  4. Hello All, I applied for the Dissertation Fellowship - I wish everyone the best of luck!
  5. Does any know the timeframe from being awarded the full grant via email to when you get official paperwork from IIE or the host-country's Fulbright commission? Just wondering how long that would take, but not as crazy as I was during the initial waiting period. I hope everyone is doing well!
  6. I hope everyone is hanging in there....I know the waiting is tough!
  7. Good news! I was selected for the Fulbright to Australia!!!!!!!!! a very trying experience this Fulbright is..... good luck to everyone!!!
  8. at this point, I don't know what to think..other than to keep praying and not drive myself crazy...feel like I have my dissertation riding on this...but keep my head up..out of our hands at this point...
  9. I use "Tweet Deck" and it allows me to search and then create a column on my feed of "Fulbright"
  10. so i'm on twitter and have saved the search "Fulbright" and it updates whenever there is "Fulbright" in a tweet (kinda creepy-but serves the purpose) and I saw that Chile has informed their US scholars. It drives you crazy, but at least it shows that many other people are in a similar boat of waiting, nervousness and general turmoil...but things are getting better I guess...
  11. ..German centric? lol...plently of non-German applicants in here.... Anyone else waiting to hear from Australia?
