Not an Andeanist, but I have heard great things about Brown's Joukowsky Institute for Central/South American, and I know UCLA has some fantastic people for Andean archaeology.
I have several strong candidates remaining as well after making a pile of rejections last week. Turning down good offers from faculty whose work I greatly respect is a dirty, nasty feeling! The ones I have left represent very different aspects of the archaeology subdiscipline and have very different strengths. They're also (mostly) in opposite corners of the country...
Ciistai, check with the program if you are interested in doing your Ph.D. in the US after the MPhil. I have been hearing about a lot of people who defer their Ph.D. admission for the British MPhil!
I esteem Chapel Hill over Georgia just based upon my interactions with faculty, as well as the fact that many of my professors have much more complimentary things to say about UNC than UGA. Honestly, that's more for classics, though I think it may hold true throughout.
Just curious who has been accepted where, since most of the actual admissions processes are winding down, I believe. What are your final criteria going to be? Who are your front-runners?

It is my understanding that there were two spots this year and that acceptances have been sent out. I do believe there is a wait-list?
