Question for everybody regarding admitted student weekends - is it in poor form to ask about spousal accommodation, provided that the school is offering a stipend to cover recruitment weekend travel? My own thinking is that a number of students considering prospective programs need to keep in mind their partners, so it's probably not a completely uncommon question, though I don't want to make a bad impression off the bat. If anybody has any experience in these matters it would be incredibly helpful.

Hi everybody, Presently, I'm looking at options for funding the graduate application fees. I understand that there are fee waivers, but was wondering if anyone knew of any for the rest of us that don't meet the criteria (i.e., either present students or needs based). I've come across the IHS fund, but was hoping that some of you knew of any others? Many thanks for your attention!

Just got an email notifying me that I'm on the UofT waiting list, does anybody care to speculate as to whether to take this as a loss (i.e., how long the waiting list is?)

Is anybody else waiting on Canadian schools? They seem to be taking forever. I know I've already asked about McGill but it seems strange that there's only been one rejection and one acceptance spread out over a couple of weeks, and I'm not sure how to interpret this (rejection?). Also, I wish UofT would hurryyyy upp

Just got off the phone with Princeton, they anticipate that everyone will hear by the end of February.

I suppose we might be expecting Princeton acceptances this week? Has anybody called? If not I'll ring them up today.

I saw, but it seems that all of the schools that I've been following have sent out acceptances much earlier than last year, so I'm wondering if somebody has any 'specialist insider' knowledge haha

Also, as an aside, to those who have heard from McGill: has your status changed in Minerva?

This was my thinking as well so I took a big 'me day' and just watched episodes of Maury. What other schools are you applying to? I anticipate the next decision I'll be hearing is from Columbia and it seems like forever away, making the first rejection sting a little bit more.

I called U Chicago as it was my pretty much top choice and wanted to make sure that all of the acceptances haven't been sent out, and the GA said she can't disclose on the phone anything about individual acceptances, but all of them will be sent out by the end of next week. So that's my hopeful news?

I'm also applying to Chicago! It seems that out of the schools I applied to, it'll be the first to send out admissions, so right now is a super anxious time. Next week seems about right but I'm hoping they'll be out by the end of this week. As an aside, what is 'usual' for the subfields at Chicago anyway?
