  1. Still waiting....*crickets*.... no response yet....

  2. Hi thanks for the stats. Those seem to be the ones I come across most consistently. I did drop the school a word, and one of my POIs responded. I am anxiously awaiting some news. I heard University of Ottawa (clinical psychology department) had their meeting on Friday. Does anyone know how long it would take them to call students for interviews? I know today is a Canadian holiday.
  3. Thanks for the reply. From what I read about sshrc, it cannot be deferred unless you are sick or pregnant. http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/funding-financement/using-utiliser/guide-A/regulations-reglements-eng.aspx#a7 Quick question, if you did call the school, who would you talk to? POI? secretary?
  4. I know the suspense is really bugging me. I hate discrepancies (well maybe I don't hate them, but in this case, it is making me super nervous.
  5. wow about the prescription call.... that would have bothered me as much as it bothered you. So true, housewives are a great way to see individuals interact (and lack of proper socialization, coping, and other clinical fasicinations). I am currently watching the Beverley Hills one.
  6. This will not sound intellectual, but I am watching real housewives to help relieve my stress.
  7. I am losing my mind, I can't wait any longer.... I know, I know, I am suppose to be a psych major and have some composure to myself, but this process is making me lose my hair!! Thanks for letting me vent gradcafe
  8. They know all my insecurities and reasons why I loathe myself..... oh what that is why I don't think they will pick me, not a school conspiracy!
  9. Here is a few replies I came up with from other topics in the Interviews forum:
  10. Hi Everyone, It is my first time applying, and also about my first week on GradCafe (which is a great source for information). I was wondering what do Canadian Clinical Psychology interviews look like or entail? I keep hearing about interview weekends, current grad students accommodating visiting students, and other things. I am totally lost on what this all means. Please, someone give me some insight to the specifics of interviews within clinical psychology.
  11. Hi Everyone, I wanted to start a forum where everyone gives their best interview advice. Over the phone? In person? Skype? --- which is the best? What to wear? What to know? What to say?
  12. Wow, I would love to know who which birdie told you this news (PM if you would like). Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I can breathe for the next couple of days without horrible thoughts of rejection.
  13. I applied to University of Ottawa for Clinical Psychology, I have not heard anything back at all yet. If you have, I would love to know.
  14. The waiting game does suck!!! Did you apply to the clinical psychology program? Also, did you get invited to attend? How does one go about checking out schools? I have been thinking of going down to Ottawa, but I was waiting for a possible interview. Also, any suggestions on interview in person or interview over the phone?
  15. All I want to know is if you they like me! Feeling anxious this morning hopefully waiting for interview request or something!!

  16. Working hard on my undergrad thesis, but can't stop thinking of the future...

Thank you! I know eh, never realized how much back-and-forth with a professor a thesis would take.

  17. First of all congratulations on your acceptance. Second, I agree with the above post, you have done the right thing - Try email/calling the school (depending how long ago you initially contacted them). Sounds like what you are saying is that you are happy that the school accepted you, and are almost sure you will take it; however, you do not like how they have put such a quick deadline on your decision, especially since you haven't been able to see the campus. Things to think over... What is their rank on your list of schools that you have applied to? Why did you originally want to work with this professor? Do you think it is worth it to make the decision before seeing the campus?

  21. I've applied to 1 university - University of Ottawa for Clinical Psychology. Deadline Dec 15. Also I am an undergraduate. I have not heard anything yet - --
  22. Thank you selecttext and RosamundReage for your quick replies. Both replies greatly encouraged me!
  23. Is it possible to get a SSHRC award, and still be rejected from a graduate school? I've been told that my application has been forwarded to the SSHRC people. I am a fourth year undergrad, and I have only applied to one school for clinical psychology (fall 2013). I have a strong GPA, and positive research experience (both thesis and working in a lab). Anyone know how schools look on applicants that have received awards?
