For the poster who mentioned that they received an unofficial email from Georgetown, did you contact them individually, or was it unprompted? Also, has anyone heard any news from University of Washington? They normally announce this week and I'm wondering if that's still the case.

I'm also waiting to hear about Georgetown. The results page said that the person was applying to computational linguistics who heard today. I know that their committees review applications for the different concentrations separately, so I'm assuming the open house might also be for separate concentrations. Does anyone have any other information for those who've applied for Sociolinguistics?

I know that Dr. Boxer is getting close to retirement though, so you may be careful about applying there simply for her work in pragmatics. If she retires before you're able to defend quals then you may be left without an advisor to help guide you. I loved Florida when I did my undergrad there, so if you have any questions about FL-life, then let me know.

Just got an email from Hawaii stating that I wasn't offered a position in the PhD program, but asking if I was interested in the MA. Does this mean I got accepted to the MA? Does anyone know about how funding would work for that?

Ugh, I get the same thing from my family about linguistics and UF. The worst part is that I'm currently here and have a great rapport with the faculty, but it's not a good fit for what I want to do.

Hello Everyone, Does anyone know about the decision process for Berkeley, Purdue or Hawaii at Manoa? I checked last year's results for Berkeley and it didn't mention anything about interviews or campus visits, so I wasn't sure what the process would be. Information about the other two would be great too!
