They'll ease you into the math classes. By the end of the program, plenty of people who were terrible at math start to eat and breathe integrals. And I've spent my share down in the tutoring center at my uni (one semester like 50+ hours) for maths. So there's always resources there if you need the help!
Edit* my major is ME
Would you say that it is more prestigious in Germany to have the fulbright or a DAAD scholarship?
I'd be happy with any one of them haha. Just wondering.
Whatever gets me to Germany...
Are you aware of how prestigious the DAAD scholarship is in Germany? I'm really not sure at all. Is it highly regarded? Do people know about it at all?
Just wondering. It's kind of difficult to find much info about it i've found.....not that i've looked overly hard.
At my university, the scholarship is not even announced. I by chance found it online, doing independant research. And apparently we had an FPA...there wasn't even an official interview requirement for mine. Unofficial introduction and then beginning of the application.
Total there are maybe like 8 or 10 people at my uni that apply (out of around 22,000 students).
The 60 seconds of cleaning your inbox must have been excruciating.
If anything, killing time and NOT talking about fulbright scholarships or waiting can help out a bit with nerves. I know it does for me at least.
For all you German applicants out there, I email my FPA yesterday and he replied with this:
"Mr. Jackson said the Germany “batch” has not been finalized yet, so not hearing is not a bad sign. ;-)"
Referring to a Mr Walter Jackson who's position is unknown to me.
So...not that it really means anything in particular.....or maybe it does. But probably not.
I applied to both the Fulbright and the DAAD study scholarship. But it seems that's a one off....you apply and then 5 months later you get a yes or no. Or at least I haven't heard a thing...have you?
Ah, another fellow German applicant. Seems to be a good number of us. I'm just assuming that with the precision and efficiency and that goes with German processes in general, we should hear soon.
Going for a full or ETA? Didn't see your name on the spreadsheet.
I also heard that notifications will be coming out soon, but it will be the alternate/rejections. The 2nd round recommended candidates must go back around to IEE for whatever reason and will be coming a bit later.
From my FPA.
Hey everyone, just finally decided to make myself known after creeping since November.
Right now I'm just in the same anxious boat of waiting, just like everyone else haha.
