  1. Anyone else unable to log on to their sshrc portfolio online? It was up and running yesterday...
  2. I talked to my departmental chair today to check in about the sshrc. He thought I was approaching him to give him "good news". There is no way they will know before us. He was surprised that I told them they emailed me and indicated mid-to-late April. His words were: "I figured any day now!" Sheeesh. On another note, do you think sshrc staff read this blog?
  3. Is anyone logging on their SSHRC profile page? Will the results be on there do you think?
  4. Now that we have seen all the MA students around us get their SSHRCs, how does everyone feel?
  5. Carleton (@cugrads) just tweeted to expect direct sshrc responses by end of April.
  6. Carleton (@cugrads) just tweeted to expect direct sshrc responses by end of April.
  7. Email from SSHRC: Thank you for your email. The Doctoral Awards competition is still in progress. The results of the competition will be mailed around mid to end of April 2014. If your mailing address has changed, please inform us as soon as possible so that we may keep your file up to date. Sincerely,
  8. Called and referred to an email. I just emailed them. I'll post results.
  9. Im going to call them and ask. Who knows, it might pay off... ...stand by.
  10. I am just finding about this now... How do I log in?
  11. Hey, it's all internal which means university-specific. If you go to ualberta they will be mid-late april rather than April 1.
  12. Thanks for sharing. I think I'll just forget about it for a few weeks. If it comes in earlier all the better. Be sure to post your results here when you hear back!
  13. Exactly. I was merely sharing for MAs that might be lurking. This has nothing to do with doc sshrcs.
  14. I ended up talking to our grad advisor. He noted that they received notification today that the MA sshrc will be a few weeks later now rather than the firm April 1st deadline. While I don't think this affects PhDs, as all MAs are internal, this might be some useful info for some MAs waiting to hear back.
  15. Yeah I think we're still too early in the game at this point. That being said, consensus is leaning towards an earlier notification than years past.
  16. Yeah, I'm just going to go ahead and bump this thread a bit. Keep it hot. .....I'm going a little insane.
  17. I heard from an administrator in my department that the sshrc docs are supposedly adjudicated already and at this point it's all administrative wait time. Who knows though. Figure I would share any news with the thread.
  18. I've been throwing #sshrc into twitter and coming up with random profs who are tweeting about adjudications for the sshrc Insight. You think they would have done the docs at the same time?
  19. I'm going to keep my hopes out for 2nd week in April. Who wants to make a bet?
  20. I wonder if because the MA sshrcs will be adjudicated at the institutions we can expect a quicker turnaround for the PhDs...
  21. So... How's everyone doing? I successfully managed to forget about sshrc for about 4 days.
  22. While these cuts are daunting. I dont think this will affect this year's applicants as funding offers are set for four years. I'm more concerned for the incoming students of next years to come.
