  1. This is my third year applying and I have now started working on my backup plan. I have worked for 2 years as a SLP in two schools in MN. I decided that if I didn't get in this year I was going to move on. This year, I applied to only 2 Speech schools (the ones I was waitlisted at last year) and have also applied to a Deaf Education program. I met with the lady that advises for that program and she said that with my stats and experience I will have absolutely no problem getting into their Master's program and that they don't reject people like the speech programs do. She advised me to start taking online classes through a community college this spring to get a few classes out of the way. There are a lot of similarities between the two programs and feel that this would also be a good fit for me. I am ready to start figuring out where I plan to live long term so I am sick of not knowing what I am going to do with my life. The nice thing about the program is I will obtaining a teaching license to work with students who are d/hoh and ca Master of Education because it is a duel licensure program so I will have a few different options.
  2. I was just wondering if anyone has not heard from University of Wisconsin River Falls yet. When I was looking at the admission results page...there are acceptances..rejections and waitlists posted and I have not heard anything yet. Just wondering if I am the only one.
  3. I was wondering how you went about applying to speech programs internationally. Are they hard to get into? any information you can give me about gaining my masters abroad would be helpful. I am looking into wanting to go abroad.
  4. Apparently I am in the top 5 on the waitlist! It is still such a bummer though to know I am sooo close but can't quite get in.
  5. So someone on the boards posted they got into tennessee state university by checking online... I am curious as to how they checked online. I never got a username or password. But i am sooooo curious.
  6. I got an email yesterday saying this.
  7. The Graduate Admissions process for the fall 2013 class has come to a close. We have a full class, and are now putting together a list of applicants wishing to be placed on a waitlist should a seat open up over the course of the summer. Historically, we do have a few spots to fill, and this can happen up until the week or two before classes begin. If you would like to be on the waitlist, please email me in response to this email to indicate that, and please do so by Wednesday April 24th, 9:00 AM EST. If you are not interested, you can still email me and let me know, or just wait until the deadline passes. A popular question at this point is rankings on the waitlist. We handle that by sending out information to waitlist candidates indicating a block on the waitlist, as in, you are top 5, 6-10, 11-15, etc. There is no way of knowing how far into the waitlist we will go, but typically 3-5 may drop during the summer.
  8. Did you get an email about being waitlisted?
  9. They posted it yesterday, but they said they got accepted off the waitlist on the 8th?? I am not sure if that makes sense. I wish we heard something yesterday. what the heck? haha I am anxious.
  10. Today is my day.

  11. I saw that. It makes me happy that I am not rejected so far. Still hope!
  12. I am hoping if we are not rejected yet that it is a good sign!
  13. anyone hearing anything? Someone was going to email them and get more info...any new information out there?
  14. Just curious about peoples opinions on if you should contact the school or schools you are wailisted at. Is it better to just let it be or do you think you should email them thanking them for the opportunity to still be in consideration? Any thoughts?
  15. It just sucks that its at a standstill until April 16th. Its frustrating not knowing if I am going to be attending anywhere. My boss keeps asking me if I will be here for the extended school year to provide services to my kiddos, but I have no idea because if I get into gradschool far away from home (Minnesota) I plan on moving home for a few weeks in summer with my family and friends cause I live about 5 hours away from everyone now and then move to the place I get into in the middle of the summer so I still have time to look for a job. If I don't let my boss know soon..it doesn't give her very much time to find a replacement.
  16. Has anybody been in contact with Tennessee State University-Nashville?
