  1. Thanks for the update! Definitely hoping things work out positively for you. No change on mine yet, but will update as noted! Haha, if nothing else, we should know the OGS stuff soon...!
  2. Ah, that makes sense. Hahaha that would definitely be hilarious! I just hope that anyone who is awarded the OGS also receives an admissions offer, because it'd be quite brutal to get the scholarship but no university to attend.
  3. I saw that... Does that mean it's possible that we'll know our OGS results before we even know if we're accepted into the program...? How would that work? This whole process is so roundabout!
  4. I think all of the Carleton applicants are just seizing onto any little bit of information available at this point haha. My status still says Recommended for Assessment, and we should be hearing about offers in the next 1 - 2.5 weeks... That's my interpretation of "mid to late March", anyways! My application was opened with OUAC on December 19 and I had finalized my application by early January. Good luck everyone! Fingers so very, very crossed!
  5. I know NPSIA does the same - their site says applications will be evaluated after March 15th, but per the admin assistant it's really just to keep students off their back until mid-March when they start sending out offers and rejections. Can't say I blame them...! Knowing how compulsively we're all checking haha, I certainly wouldn't want to be the one having to coordinate all of the applications and correspondences!
  6. Aaaah, just another thing to anxiously await! Haha although I suppose OGS funding is a moot point if the university admissions offers haven't even come out yet... I promise to post as soon as I hear anything.
  7. I'll post as well - fingers very crossed for all of us! It'd be great to all get into the program. Hopefully we'll know in the next two or three weeks (max)...!
  8. Well, my background is probably a little bit different than everyone else's... I finished a BComm with highest honours, and am just wrapping up my Chartered Accountant (CA) designation. I applied to NPSIA after reading about the program and finding it to be exactly the direction I want to take my career in, as you can often be pigeonholed accounting for everyone else's strategic decisions as a CA, and I wanted to actually be making them. I have experience living, studying and working in a number of different places internationally, but am just hoping that my different background is an asset and not a liability! I'm on the edge of my seat (like everyone else) waiting for that (hopefully an) offer! NPSIA is the only place I applied to, as other universities don't seem to have the same fit that I'm looking for.
  9. Hm, that's interesting! Did yours change from Preliminary review required, to review in progress by department, to recommended for assessment and then back to review in progress by department then? ...Seems strange for them to progress while using a status already noted. Good luck to all, either way!
  10. Hahaha so true. What a sense of relief! Congrats, based on that other thread! Posting the link that was provided here too for others to reference: http://www1.carleton.ca/socialwork/2013/2013-14-msw-applicants-admissions-decisions Hahaha, I had this overwhelming sense of relief when I saw that yesterday, but then was overthinking and questioning what it actually meant (if anything at all). Now it's (mostly until the official offer) just relief!
  11. Oh my goodness! What a relief! I was wondering what the different statuses were but hadn't seen that posted anywhere. I'll see you both in September in that case! Congratulations, both!
  12. For Carleton applicants, it looks like decisions are being sent out for MSW... That isn't my program, but as the same system is being used, I was wondering if anyone knows what the status progression is for applications on Carleton Central? So far I've seen: 1. "Preliminary review required" (default on application) to 2. "Review in progress by department" (not sure if this review is the preliminary one to acknowledge that I have all documents or the actual assessment by the department) to 3. "Recommended for assessment" (once again, not sure if it's recommended for assessment by the department since it passed the preliminary review or the Faculty of Graduate Affairs as already reviewed by the department) No communications to check from Carleton yet, I've just been obsessively checking. Can anyone else provide more information on statuses? Hope the wait isn't driving anyone too crazy!
  13. I'm really only looking at Carleton for the NPSIA MA in International Affairs program, and they have said they intend to send out offers in mid- to late-March per the graduate administrator. Carleton has a new system for graduate applications for Fall 2013 onwards, so I figured I'd try to benchmark a bit so far for anyone there (and if anyone can add to this - even better!). On Carleton Central, my app status so far has changed from: 1. "Preliminary review required" (default on application) to 2. "Review in progress by department" (not sure if this review is the preliminary one to acknowledge that I have all documents or the actual assessment by the department) to 3. "Recommended for assessment" (once again, not sure if it's recommended for assessment by the department since it passed the preliminary review or the Faculty of Graduate Affairs as already reviewed by the department) No communications to check from Carleton yet; I've just been obsessively checking. Can anyone else provide more information on statuses? I've noticed that from the results search, Carleton has so far begun to provide notice with regards to the Masters in Social Work, PhD in Public Policy, Masters in Political Economy and Masters in Economics programs. Hope everyone is doing well, and that this build up isn't driving everyone TOO crazy!
