  1. I know that wasn't directed towards me but thank you for posting that information! I wasn't able to attend any of the graduate open houses since I'm currently doing my undergrad at the University of South Florida. Do you guys have any information about Montclair or Seton Hall? I have friends who attend both school (I'm from NJ - just decided to do undergrad in Florida) but none are in the speech program. I got an email from Montclair today saying my application was sent to the department for review. I'm happy that they got it!
  2. I got that email too! I'm so excited! Montclair also emailed me today asking about my application (needed my Spring coursework). So at least we know that they are looking at some applications!
  3. That's definitely understandable! I'll be crossing my fingers for you! I just really want to hear. I don't think we'll know from them until the middle of March unfortunately :/
  4. Yay another person applying to East Stroudsburg! They are my top choice. I applied to East Stroudsburg, Seton Hall, Montclair, and William Paterson. I haven't heard anything yet. According to the results section Seton Hall lets their first round of people know at the beginning of March though!
  5. Dream - To get into East Stroudsburg University, hopefully with funding. Hope - To get into more than one school. I would love to have to make a choice! Guess - I think I'm a pretty strong candidate so I'm guessing I will get in somewhere.... But as we get closer to March I'm starting to doubt myself, even though my schools haven't sent out any decisions yet according to the results search. So I honestly don't know :/
  6. Not yet! According to the results section, I probably won't know until mid-March. I'm getting anxious.
  7. If anyone wants to know about USF, I'm an undergraduate there currently. I highly recommend it! I'm only not applying to USF because I'm moving back to my home state. I haven't heard good things about NOVA. I've heard FSU is excellent.
  8. I just read this book again as well! It's basically my favorite book of all time. I recently read "Over My Head: A Doctor's Own Story of Head Injury from the Inside Looking Out" by Claudia L. Osborn. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about traumatic brain injury.
  9. Woohoo! The school that had lost all of my stuff said that my application is complete and is under review! Now to wait.... and get caught up on my actual coursework.
  10. Got the "Complete, ready for review" message from my top choice on Tuesday! I also submitted my graduate assistantship application. I'm so happy I also sorted out the problem with the school that didn't have any of my forms. Now all they are missing is my transcripts so I reordered them. My other two schools are done and ready for review. Now the waiting begins....
  11. Thank you and good luck to both of you as well! The school that doesn't have my forms/transcripts has the best research program of all of the schools. But it's also the most expensive so it wasn't my top choice. So at least that's good. I just feel weird about now only having three completed applications. That seems like not enough schools.
  12. Just received an email from one of my schools saying that they haven't received any of the forms that I sent (one of which I have no way to get a copy of because it had to be signed by my professor who is now on maternity leave) or my transcripts. AHHHH.
  13. Update - my letter writer submitted the letter! Now I'm just waiting on my letter writer for Seton Hall. I know he wrote the letter. He just needs to upload it.
  14. I know this wasn't directed at me but I think those 4 schools are probably enough. But I may be biased because I'm only applying to four due to my fiance's job.
  15. Ugh. One of my letter of recommendation writers never sent in his letter and hasn't responded to my two emails (one last semester with info about where I was applying, one followup this semester). So I asked my employer for the third letter for this school. I work with children with special needs so it's applicable and my two other letters are professors but still I hate it when my plans fall through. So stressful!
  16. I'm an East Coast applicant! I'm doing my undergrad in Florida but I only applied to grad schools in NJ and PA.
  17. Wow that's a lot faster than I thought! Thanks! Oh my goodness I never checked! Thank you for asking. It's orange so I will stop worrying so much
  18. Does anyone know how long it takes CSDCAS to evaluate your transcripts? I'm worried my school won't get my application in time :/
  19. Congratulations to you too! I just finished and sent mine today. I just have to put a few forms in the mail for Seton Hall and Montclair and order transcripts from a community college I went to for two classes that won't let you order online. But most of the work is done! For those who asked about how many schools: I'm applying to four schools. I should probably apply to more but I'm limited by geography - I have to stay near my fiance's job.
  20. I just finished my Fall semester! I'm sitting down and finishing my SOPs this weekend. They are technically done but need some polishing. Thankfully my mom is a professional writer and can help me. Then I will be sending in my applications! I have already ordered my transcripts from my university and my GRE scores.
  21. Thank you very much for your reply! I will definitely take that into consideration. My fiancé doesn't make enough to support both of us so I will have to do something to supplement our income. But now I'm thinking that something may just have to be student loans. I did apply for a job that is very flexible (part time; work from home mostly with some Saturday work) so maybe that would work.
  22. Was it possible for you or your classmates to work during the program? I plan to take out loans for tuition but I don't want to take out loans for living expenses.
  23. Not really unfortunately :/ I'm from NJ but I'm doing my undergrad in Florida (U of South Florida) so my professors don't know that much about the NJ programs.
  24. I'm applying to Montclair, William Paterson, Seton Hall, and potentially Kean (debating on that one). How about you?
  25. I got that as well. I also don't know how they got my address! I went to ASHA last year but can't go this year. It was so fun, even as an undergrad. You'll love it!
