Assume $110 a month payment per 10k borrowed.  My personal comfort level is 50K total loan amount.  From what I gathered, starting salary should be around 60k a year (medical side, West coast).  Uncle Sam is going to take 25% of that, and depending on whether or not you have state taxes, another 5% or so.  So 60K X .7=42K take home pay.  Even with a budget of 2k a month, you still have a lot of room to make extra payments on the loan.  When the checks start coming in, resist the urge to buy the new car, the nice condo, restaurants, babies, etc.    Continue to live that spartan college existence and you can be debt-free within a few years of graduating.

    - Clinic appropriate clothing: This probably varies from place to place but my normal attire was ballerina flats (dressy yet comfortable), button-up/nice sweater, and skirt/dress pants. Just make sure you feel comfortable in them, especially if you are working with kids.  - Recorder: http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-VN-702PC-Voice-Recorder/dp/B006ZW4HY2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357253320&sr=8-1&keywords=olympus+recorder - Wrist watch with a second hand: It probably is up to you if you want digital or analog.Analog looks more professional, but a digital would have the added advantage of a stopwatch.  - Stopwatch: useful in certain situations (especially assessments) - Clipboard: Maybe even one with storage - Some way to keep papers organized: I'd use a binder with plastic folders.  Just to keep things organized! - Water bottle: Keep one with you at all times!   Most programs provide copy machines, laminators, games, paper, craft materials, snacks. You might need a 3-hole-puncher. Do keep an eye out for motivational things for clients. Pay attention to what they're interested in and buy them it.   Good luck!
