  1. DalPhDer. I have used with great success the software program Ginger, I paid like $30 for it a couple of years ago. It is not perfect but gives you a good start. On my really important papers, I submit them to Writecheck by Turnitin. For my $7.95 you can't beat it. It checks for plagiarism, and grammar. For a smell fee per paper they actually will tutor you. Hope this helps, because I know your pain. I was asked the same question, yes English is my first language.
  2. Thanks rising star. I am using Dropbox, I just do not feel my "methods"are what they need to be lol.
  3. Hello fellow researchers. I currently have a workstation win7 and a budget laptop for mobile computing needs(class, libraries, etc). Basically, I am doing most to the research on the laptop and all of the heavy duty stuff on the workstation. I am basically software bound to the windows system due to the amount of software currently using. Would purchasing a workstation class notebook have much advantage other than less time transferring files to the desk computer due to the great performance difference? Other question is how are your work flow systems setup( one, two computers, and how do most efficiently use them)? I will be starting my masters thesis in a few days, and pending graduation in May will be starting doctoral studies in the fall. Any and all recommendations will greatly be appreciated.
  4. I have to agree with Decaf. Most of the upper echelon business schools have many faculty that have all the degrees in the world, but the could not run a shift at a restaurant to save their lives. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing against theories. When I chose the small school I am going to, the professors have the Phd's and DBA's, but they have years of work experience that they can relate. To me, learning from someone that has done the job is much better, than someone that knows the theory behind the job. Just some food for thought.
  5. Most Phd programs look more at graduate course work than they do undergraduate. Graduate work is more like the doctoral level work. You need to focus on where you want to program wise and find as much research based courses as you can. The better you can research, with work to back it up will go a long way.
