  1. It sucks when there's nobody else on the boards waiting for the same schools to notify. You never know what the timeline is.
  2. so what schools do you all have left that you're waiting to hear from for Comp. Lit? I've heard nothing from the following: USC, UC Riverside, UC Irvine. I'm pretty sure Irvine and Riverside haven't notified yet (I think), but I'm not sure about USC at all.
  3. Looks like an implied acceptance to me. It's from the Graduate STUDENT Association, not from the Graduate School. On another note that conference topic sounds a bit broad. try to respond to the email.
  4. Yeah I think you two are correct. I'll go to the gym instead.
  5. What do you all think about emailing departments to find out results if they traditionally notify early but you have not heard anything either way (and no results board stuff have been posted). To email or not to email?????
  6. Gustav Congrats!! Wow you are doing great so far! What other complit programs did you apply to?
  7. Look, if you want to study French film and no profs at any of the most "prestigious" universities study that, but you go to one of those universities anyway, you will have no advisors to guide you in your field. You will be stuck studying other things that you don't want to specialize in. Grad and undergrad are two different animals. For grad the department and faculty reputation/specialization trumps university name. Try to land in a program where your subfield is strong or you're going to end up spending 5 years studying things you don't want to study. And if you don't like it you're never going to finish or get a job regardless where you attend.
  8. Another. Slow. Comparative. Literature. Day. Still no news here.
  9. someone posted a USC Slavic admit on the message board. Congrats! Any info on how the offer came? they are part of the complit program yes?
  10. it seeems that all the programs are notifying later this year than last year. The good news is that almost no complit applicants on this forum have heard anything. Don't worry, it's coming soon.
  11. I have nothing either yet! But my application status on my UCR app is no longer classified as under review, so that means something!
  12. Sarcat I think UCR humanities are about to go. I checked my application status (complit) this evening and it is no longer under review, but a decision has not yet been posted. Something is coming soon!
  13. Post acceptances and rejections for complit as they arrive! The English thread is so large I thought it best to start our own! The time is upon us!
  14. sillyrabbit do you know anything about any other USC notifications? (french, spanish, complit, etc)?
  15. I don't knmuca lot about that program in particular but I can say that Buffalo has an exceptionally strong complit program with some profs working in feminism. Their English dept is also very good. I imagine you would take some courses in other depts? If so this could be an important factor.
  16. Congrats to the UI Urbana Champaign admit!
  17. It looks like UC Riverside and UC Irvine complit should be notifying soon too. Both schools seem to have notified around late Jan before, but both have also notified as late as Feb 15. I applied to both of those as well, and I would LOVE to attend either program.
  18. did you or anyone else here applied to USC this year? I think they are notifying late this year
  19. Tell me more of what you know about USC. Did this friend get in this year to complit? Have results already went out? last year the notified really early but other years much later and I've heard nothing. Any info?
  20. I posted your ucB info on the complit thread. Care to chime in more about what u know over there? I didn't apply there but I know some did.
  21. Someone on the acceptance thread said UC Berkeley already sent out complit acceptances. I didn't apply there but anyone know anything about this?
