Hey there,
Okay so I officially was denied from 6 schools and was absolutely heartbroken at first, but am better now. I have a new game plan,... I decided I needed a year of experience... this would make all the difference. I'm facing one problem... I can't find anywhere that is actively looking for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. I have started the application process for all the local school boards... except what I have found is they want SLP's so I don't even know if they will look at my application. I'm desperate to get out of the area I'm working now and get into my desired field. I'd spoken to professors, tried networking, and applying daily to as many schools as possible... yet I'm feelling like nothing is going to come from this. Does anyone have any words of wisdom. Am I doing something wrong, is there someone I can contact? With as much guidance as I've sought out I still feel lost.
P.S. I've looked into getting SLP-A certified, but you have to actively be in the field and have mentor to be able to do that.
