  1. UVA, I'm coming! Any others to join me?
  2. Got a rejection from waitlist..
  3. I agree that holding on to two offers is reasonable. But I have to say that more than that would throw our waitlisters into fire...
  4. It sounds like many applicants still hold out multiple offers at this point...This doesn't make sense, right?
  5. For me, the funding package isn't even a tie breaker, because I think if the funding is sufficient for me to live comfortably in an area then it shouldn't affect my decision. Instead, I'd take prospective mentors, rankings, location, and cohorts to be the important factors for me to make a decision. I'm also waiting for two programs, which are my first and second choices. I hope we will have good luck today.
  6. I've already declined. I hope you will get my spot as well as the fellow!
  7. Metaphysics and logic. Best of luck to you!
  8. Although I haven't been accepted off the waitlist in my #1 program, I'll be declining my fellowship offer from Syracuse later tonight. This is a very difficult decision. I hope this helps someone.
  9. Oh, no news, no news, and no news for ever...I cannot believe I'm still waiting...
  10. I'm also waitlisted at my first-choice program. They told me that the future is still wide open, given that a lot of their initially admitted students haven't submitted their decisions yet. This is very very unusual, according to the DGS. Yes, I'm going crazy, but I try to distract my attention by doing some part-time job: I'm now cooking in a kitchen...
  11. I have two other initial offers, but the decision is very tricky. If I got an offer from ND, I'd decline my other offers quickly.
  12. There has been no movement on the waitlist at ND, which is very unusual, though I know a few have turned down their offers from ND. Is anyone else deciding to decline ND?
  13. Good luck to both of us! Hopefully, they will release some offers today..
  14. Thanks. Which program are you waiting for? The last three days are so long...
  15. Still no news from ND...I'm crying?
  16. Congratulations! May I ask which program you are in?
  17. Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, if our top applicants made their decisions on April 14/15, then there would be no movement on the waitlist until the last couple of days or few hours. I have in mind a decision if I'd be unable to be admitted off the waitlist. Also, I know what to do in the event I end up getting off the waitlist.
  18. Let's keep waiting a few more days and see what will happen to us! Good luck to everyone here!
  19. I hope top applicants will decide early next week. Their decisions will make a huge difference. Best of luck to our waitlisters!
  20. Hmm, I think it is likely that some students don't report their results here, which might partly address your last worry. But you'd better shoot a message to such programs and see if they can clarify your situation.
  21. Oh yeah, many programs initially admitted more students than the number of students they can have. This is the main reason why they are not able to admit students off their waitlist, even though many students have declined their offers. To address your second question, I suspect there are many students like me who got an offer from Syracuse but still cannot make decisions, since we are waitlisted in more highly ranked programs.
  22. This year is difficult. Up to date, very many initially admitted students in top programs haven't made decisions yet, partly because several top programs set very late visiting days. E.g, Harvard is April 11-14.
