  1. hey, I gave up my spot yesterday, and I found out I was in about a month ago only after calling, so maybe that's a good idea. Good luck
  2. Hi far, sort of. I've got like a pinky in the game.
  3. Hi all, I imagine this topic could use a new thread. Looking into reapplying for MFA next year with a stronger, more focused body of work. I see Columbia's painting summer intensive priority deadline has passed, but I'm sure there are other great options out there. Any ideas you can share? Thanks. Ideas commence!
  4. Hi, first of all, thanks to those who've helped by giving their insight and have shared their experiences. Many lessons learned in this process as this was my first time applying after being out of school for a bit and kind of out of the art world. I'm thankful to have gotten into 2 schools (of 9), one I'm pretty happy about, but they would both require a serious uproot and I'm not quite ready for that. I will probably reapply next year. In the meantime, does anyone know of any programs on the east coast that offer great technique based classes, or several-week intensives just to get some work done and maybe trigger some new approaches in my own work? ....And to work alongside other talented folk. Nyss seems a little too traditional but I may be wrong, I also don't know much about it. Any other suggestions? Many thanks! Ps. Happy to see some of you have gotten good acceptances after so much waiting...
  5. Why haven't I gotten official rejection from saic yet? Same for risd. Also, does anyone have any tips for deferring process, thanks! By the way, I think it's kind of funny I only was accepted to the two schools I did some networking with. Hmm.
  6. Does anyone commute a couple of hours to an mfa program?crazy? Also, what's protocol for deferring? Any thoughts on that?
  7. I really liked the members of faculty I met/spoke with at sfai. That's why I applied. I may defer and go the following year.
  8. Has anyone yet been rejected from saic? Do they just keep all apps on retainer?
  9. was accepted to sfai but it seems i will not be able to uproot for another year. i would like to defer...whats protocol? any tips?
  10. anyone know of any fabulous rolling admissions places on the east coast?? Also, have people followed up on their interviews?
  11. sob. im going to look into taking some kind of classes... just to be around others working....then in a year round this time ill have made such beautiful things with my anger. ha! i think it sucks more for me because im not that young. congrats and good luck to those whove made it. this board has surely made things seem even more arbitrary and strange than i had previously thought. its been especially interesting to see people get bad news and bad news and then some good. thanks to those whove shared. i kinda want my app fees back....$$$ and to all that positive feedback on portfolio day, pfff
  12. ugh. no hunter call. how disappointing. this is my first year applying, i dont know if i can do this again.
