  1. Finally, congrats! did you get a call? (oh, and abroad by any chance?)
  2. haha IR indeed is a BIG mystery now. Quite a few people on this forum are wondering about it as well. No one has claimed it so far tho...
  3. Also interested . Plus the subfield as well ~
  4. thanks Packrat I also think thats the way to go. In the meantime, we can only rely on the lurking IR/SS people to claim their admittance. Since SS is one of the highlights of MIT (although i initially characterizd that aspect as a 'sinking ship' ) i doubt their part of this cycle can end so uneventfully. And regarding MIT as a whole, uneventful seems to be the right term for this cycle...haha
  5. Packrat Thanks for the information ! I guess the policy oriented nature is making mit a less frequently mentioned school on this forum. Most ppl here are very academically oriented. As for the admission decision, what is ur guess at this point ? Do you think ir and ss decisions are out but the accepted people are being quiet, or they are not out yet, or something else ??
  6. I am pretty much the same ir/ss There is always the possibility that they sent snail mail without making the call Do let me know if u find anything new ! Again I'm surprised tho that no one really cares about mit With their security and qualitative focus, maybe it's a sinking ship in the political science circle ??
  7. Curious about this as well, plus whether or not any admits are IR and/or security studies
  8. yea definitely no need to cross the school off the list just yet! People from previous years found out only after finding their envelope in their PO boxes. and as for myself, I got an acceptance from one school a full day after the majority of decisions went out and I did not have any POI contact me, although many others indicated that they have been contacted. So the lesson is, its not over until its over! Good luck!
  9. I am assuming that the calling/emailing is optional for that school i.e. its up to the professors handling the business. But probably all the snailmailz have gone out??? i dont know.
  10. seems too early to have ended... I'm also surprised not many on this forum are paying attention to MIT. History tells us that POI can email, phone, or just take no action and let people find out once the snailmail arrives. I think the latter two are more likely for acceptances.
  11. Congrats!! Seems like they are slowly releasing their results!
  12. Would you guys say UCSD is pretty much done with their decisions? Seems like a number of people on this forum are neither accepted nor rejected...
  13. Congrats UCSD people!!! Is the school sending out the letters in waves do you think??? (every hour, half an hour, etc)
  14. I see i see. So i guess the post isnt too relevant for the general UCSD applicants thanks!
  15. If anyone can provide an answer. Someone posted UCSD rejection recently, labeling the program as Political Science and International Affairs. Is this different from the regular poli sci program?
  16. thanks ! good to hear. Good luck to both of us for the rest of the cycle~
  17. I thought Rochester's waitlist email has a quite positive nuance to it. Rochester mentions funding, so I thought that was a rather positive sign, but hard to tell without any frame of reference. How would you say the letters compare, NYU and Rochester?
  18. U can go to the results page and search MIT political science and skim through the past few years. The acceptances were notified via phone mostly
  19. Definitely a troll.... plus MIT has not emailed their applicants (at least for acceptances)
  20. man... this wait is terrible. At least if I am told of the release date, I can mentally prepare.... But continuous speculation and yearly variations are adding far more anxiety to this process than necessary!
  21. And even funnier is that the adcom told the troll that his research experience was just 'average' (despite having 3 peer-reviewed pub!)
