  1. "Are you sure you want to do this? You're not gonna make any money" "You should apply for this program instead"..... Now that it's 5 months past the application deadline!
  2. I posted there too but haven't seen a response so just trying to drum up something
  3. I'm visiting William & Mary and I can't seem to find where all the grad students hang out/study?
  4. I think if you both are committed to the relationship and eachother's goals it can work. I also think it's extremely difficult because you will change throughout your program and the distance makes it difficult for the other person to change with you. I'm a firm believer though that you shouldn't let a relationship keep you from your education. If it's meant to be it will be
  5. I will be attending William & Mary in the Fall. As only 1 of 8 in my program, I am wondering how difficult is it to meet people outside of your program? Any suggestion on how to do this? I haven't really been able to find an all grad student organization to get involved in...
  6. I will be attending William & Mary in the Fall for grad school. Is there anyone who can tell me what the grad student scene is like? I'm here now looking for a place to live and it's gorgeous. I hear that's it's extremely difficult (no surprises there) but just wondering where the grad students live/hangout? Are there organizations they like to get involved in?
  7. At the time of my undergrad both of my parents only had high school degrees. However, my mom started attending college right before I did. She began at the community college the summer before my Freshmen year. Now that I am applying for grad school, am I unable to classify myself as first generation college student? My Mom went back after I encouraged her to take a couple of classes since I was going to be leaving and I thought it would be fun for her. Just not sure if I am still technically a first gen anymore? Any advice?
