  1. Hey all! Current Fordie here. I remember stalking these forums during the application process, so I'd be glad to help in answering questions about UMich/Ford.. Sorry, no idea exactly when they'll be releasing decisions... word on the street is it's today!
  2. same here--I was surprised to be named one of the LBJ Fellows with 5k per semester and in state tuition as well. This completely covers tuition for both years which is amazing news. I'm really looking forward to visiting campus and hopefully this will help me make a decision!
  3. I emailed Mr. Yeary who said info regarding admitted student days would be in the documents we'll be receiving this week. I'm assuming he was referring to the official letter from the LBJ school? I tried to find out when the visitation days took place last year, but with no luck...anyone have an idea? I'd love to get the ball rolling with travel plans so I hope they do let us know soon
  4. I was just feeling the same way, IKB... there are definitely highs and lows throughout this process, but I feel so relieved that the wait is over. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted, and best of luck to everyone who is still watching and waiting. It's so important to stay positive..TGIF!!!
  5. thanks for checking! I just logged on and I found my acceptance note.. no email yet
  6. Unfortunately I won't be attending Visitation Day. I'm really bummed, actually--but I just can't afford the flight from Florida right now. I asked about funding, but they said none was available. I'm hoping to visit sometime in late March/early April and hopefully visit other programs (assuming I get accepted to other programs as well, fingers crossed!) Good luck to everyone throughout the decision making process:)
  7. Although I have yet to visit campus, I have gotten the impression that faculty, students, and staff are extremely friendly and responsive. I was just accepted to the MPP in Education Policy program, which was appealing to me because of the ability to obtain a professional degree with a more education-based focus/curriculum. I'm looking forward to learning more about the program and the university.
  8. I just want to echo what all the other posters have mentioned--Although I was never a student at UM, I grew up in the area and also worked in close proximity to the university while living on Miami Beach. The drive from South Beach is not a short one--30-45 minutes at best. A better bet is to stick to the Coral Gables/South Miami area, or other areas like Coconut Grove, Brickell, or even Kendall. Not having a car in this city is EXTREMELY limiting. Miami is a beautiful, culturally diverse, fun place to live though! Good luck to all
