As if to reward my resolution to stay calm, I just got a Princeton QCB invite! Sorry to have worried Princeton applicants unnecessarily >> they're still going out! EDIT It might also be worth mentioning that I sent them (the general Princeton graduate office) my midyear grades a few days ago, as Princeton asks for them. Not sure if they were waiting on these to extend interview invites or if the timing is coincidental.

Sorry to hear that, DirtyLabCoat :/ but ERR_Alpha is right! Maybe they thought you'd be a better fit somewhere else and it'll all work out for the best. And if it was really just because of a silly GRE score - would you really want to go to a program that admits good test-takers rather than good researchers? I also think (read: hope) that the ~second week of January will bring a lot of news. Until then, let's try to relax and enjoy the end of the holiday season (I'm still eating xmas leftovers!) and New Years!

Another Princeton QCB interview was put up on results page. Apparently QCB interviews are Feb. 7 and MB interviews are Jan. 31.... Seems to me that it's close enough to that date that if we haven't heard, we're probably out :/ I hope I'm wrong!

Yeah, the QCB invites have gone out a lot earlier this year :/ not sure if it's only a couple or if that's it.. aaah.

I applied to both QCB and molecular bio via Biology@Princeton (in that order of preference).

If anyone feels like calling Princeton and asking what's up with interviews there, you would be my hero! But maybe no one is as neurotically nervous as I am >> I want to but I'm out all day and don't think I'll have a moment quiet enough.

Seems like you should have been breathing just fine with your many awesome interviews!! Many congrats Harvard Biophysics doesn't interview, so I'm just sitting here waiting for an actual decision, which is terrifying!!!! (Probably not until Jan, though.)

Congrats all! DirtyLabCoat, don't worry! Most program don't send out anything until after the new year, from what I've heard. You look like a really competitive applicant, and I'm sure good things will come your way!

No worries, adenine_monarch. You have so many interviews already; that has to be a good sign! I've only heard back from places where I applied significantly (~2 weeks or more) earlier than the deadline, so my working hypothesis is that that's playing a role at least at some schools. I just got a Caltech Biology interview via email!! I applied on Dec. 2, so that's another early one (I think their deadline wasn't until the 15th). Interesting pattern.

I wonder if many programs go through applications in the order they were submitted? The only interviews I've gotten are for programs to which I applied more than a week before the deadline. That's what I'm hoping, anyway!

I agree 100% with whoever said that they wish they still had classes... I finished my last final yesterday and now I am literally just watching Netflix and compulsively checking my email and this forum and results search with nothing to distract me ): I would feel sooo much better if I stopped checking results search and seeing that Princeton interviews are going out, but alas, I can't muster the self-control to stop....

BostonBio, what department did you apply to at Princeton? / Did you apply through Bio@Princeton? Congrats on your interview (: I also just got an invite from BCM. I applied to SCBMB and was contacted directly by the department.

I applied via Biology@Pton too. I did QCB and molecular bio, in that order. Glad to know that many of us are still waiting. Thanks all (:

@gellert yeah, definitely don't worry. it's so early in the game! thanks! the interview weekend is the 7th-8th of february (i'm not sure if there are multiple; they only offered me one). @neurogirl, cognitive neuro is a separate admitting program not housed under neurobiology (you apply directly to cog neuro) (: @pachel this was my first interview and i was feeling exactly the way you are now about 24 hours ago. don't worry yet! the waiting is super difficult, but try to stay calm. good things will come (:

hey gellert! i got one of the duke cognitive neuro admitting program interviews. it was via a phone call from the director of graduate studies. from the results search, i'm pretty sure they'll be sending out more interviews in the next few weeks, so by all means if you get a phone call from a 909 number, answer it! i applied about a week before the deadline, and i think that's why i'm in the early batch of interviews. good luck

Has anyone heard from Princeton yet? The results search from last year show that many of their interviews went out before xmas. There have been 2 posted on the results search, but I haven't heard anything ): Anyone else waiting and/or know anything?
