  1. Fine, this is helpful. However, I don't need a further masters degree, nor I have the money to do it. Just send me your pre-filled regrets, I think this is a much more merciful action after two consecutive applications to the same school.
  2. Anyone got news from UC Irvine? Last year they sent out decisions from the 7th of February. I tried to contact them but my attempt has been pretty disregarded..
  3. Chicago epic fail. Worth noticing: none of the current students interviewed is from PS. Implicit advice to choose the "right" graduate program next time.
  4. Who can claim the Boston admit? I emailed the graduate coordinator yesterday and I was told the first round decisions will be out in the next two weeks.. Considering the Harvard troll, it's likely that someone is having fun with the Boston area schools right now..
  5. I think so, I also received that email a few minutes ago. Are you going to join it?
  6. Same here! Fingers crossed, it would be my first choice.
  7. I am, still "In review"... waitlist? maybe it would be worth contacting them...
  8. I think so, 4th rejection is coming. It would be much better letting us know as soon as possible, there is no point whatsoever in waiting for "updates" until then, especially if these schools do not waitlist or "waiting" people have not been (and won't be) shortlisted.
  9. I was told - probably by the same person - by March 10.
  10. Could be, I'm in the same boat, just wait until tomorrow 7am for a further (and maybe final) update.
  11. Indeed, I was also thinking whether to apply or not and I reached your same conclusion..
  12. Rolling admissions at Binghamton? Not applying there but its deadline is on the 1st of February
  13. I mean, a 65, especially from one of the best institutions in IR of the Russell Group, cannot be translated straight into a B!!! This is just delusional. That's what happened to me.
  14. Thank you! Well, at least in my case, they don't look at all at the final grade but at each exam's grade, which is converted into the American grade system. And since the two systems are pretty different, the result is pretty unfair. I hope other institutions are more familiar with the UK system.
  15. You know what? GWU did convert my UK grades (Pass with Merit) into a GPA: they made the conversion directly on my uploaded transcript. Well, my file was pretty strong, but I just got rejected. Good start.
  16. You're welcome NYC! I hope too it's gonna be not real, despite I saw another post telling the same thing. Anyway, we'll find out more in a few days. Fingers crossed!
  17. Hi NYCBluenose, unless the guy it's a troll you can find it on the Results Search: 35 shortlisted applicants invited to open house on Feb 9. Offers for 25-30 to follow thereafter. I claim my not-shortlisting, as I have not received anything so far (and it's likely I will not)
  18. Apparently, also GWU has made its shortlist. I can guess that two schools out of my 13 are off the list already..
  19. I wish I could tell you! By the way, interesting question. I had an interview for a PhD admission, not an American university and it was entirely based on a research project submitted alongside the application. This time - no detailed projects involved - I guess it would be different, I am also curious to know how different. Have you received any feedback on your applications?
  20. Perfect, thanks again!
  21. Thank you, Professor. Are all the interview requests already out?
  22. Can anyone here confirm the OSU interview?
  23. Hi all, here's another semi-lurker: this is my second cycle, last year I got two acceptances from one Australian and one English university - both without funding - plus three waiting lists in US (with no admission, one of them was a top ten Department). International student, IR theory, this time I improved my GRE score by ten points overall and the quant by 8 - which I think was my biggest weakness last year - and changed my research interests a bit. As the outcomes approach, let's cross our fingers and good luck everyone!
  24. Dear Gabe, thank you very much for this. The admission process in US works quite differently from Europe - at least, in terms of flexibility - so your help is very much appreciated. Happy holidays to you, too! Robes
