Well - I am happy to say through a champagne hangover that I was accepted last night to NYU and wait listed at UW Seattle - my two top choices!!!!!! I am over the moon with excitement, I found out at work and could not WAIT to tell all my forum peeps! haha you guys have been so fantastic through this whole process! Congrats to all the other acceptances, this is my second year applying so I am so thankful to have gotten in this round!
-
ahhh! Now I am freaking out 10 times worse seeing that others have heard from NYU, nothing yet on this end!
-
I posted this in the NY/NJ thread too but... Here is something that's kind of scaring me... Last year it looks like first rounds of admissions for NYU went out on March 1st. Do you think that would be the case this year even though its a Saturday or would they wait until Monday?? (Obviously freaking out!)

Just got officially rejected from BU - I thought it was coming as I didn't even get to interview, but stings nonetheless! Fingers crossed for the next 5 options!!!!

SLP GRAD SCHOOL HOPES~DREAMS~GUESSES THREAD
LMZ replied to twinguy7's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Very great idea for a thread, Twinguy! My DREAM would be to get into NYU or UofW Seattle - I LOVE the prospect of a summer in Sweden with NYU, and I also love the sounds of the MedSLP program in Seattle. My HOPE is that I get accepted anywhere at all so I don't have to take another year off.... and my GUESS is that I will get into one school or two that is outrageously expensive for International Students and have a tough tough decision on my hands. Feels good to get those out there! -
Utah State Online Post-Bach and Acceptance

No problem! I will be sure to update this feed when I find out! I am sure I'll be writing on the others as well if it's good news -
I was looking this up as well, it seems from the forums last year that people had about a week to prepare for/schedule their interviews, and the email I got said that they would be holding them Feb 21-23. So I guess we should hear the week of the 17th maybe? At least its something sooner than MARCH to look forward to haha.

Online or in-person leveling courses for non-trad student?
LMZ replied to ng03's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
The tuition was around $9,000 in total, and if you are in Ontario - you can still get OSAP, I got full coverage! What a BONUS! -
Online or in-person leveling courses for non-trad student?
LMZ replied to ng03's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Hey NG03! I did courses through USU and loved it! I also worked through the whole year, I actually did their 2nd Bachelor's program, and I got a reference out of it as well. There is so much contact with professors and TAs it is quite incredible. You are allowed to ask 2 professors for academic references through the program, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend it. I cannot say this enough, but my online degree at Utah State blew my undergrad from Ottawa University out of the water. Hope this helps! -
I have been waiting on this too! They actually seem to be firing through the days pretty quickly - if you look at the right hand side of your application page on CSDCAS it says what day your application was completed and what day they are currently verifying! Mine is today! Hopefully I am finally verified so I can see what they calculate my GPA as!

Same LuLuLuna! Even though I know I won't be hearing anything for a couple months still, I find myself checking in on my applications pages every day or two. SO STRESSFUL! From what I've seen, most schools send out offers from early to mid March, and we have until April 15 to reply usually. I can't wait for March!!

Hi CDAtoSLP! I have just graduated from the Utah State University's online 2nd Bachelors program. I HIGHLY recommend it! Whatever Bachelor's degree you have -they will match it. So now I have 2 BSc's. Honestly, I was intimidated to do online school and have no structure/schedule to follow, but the admin/profs/TAs are INCREDIBLE. It actually put Ottawa U to shame. Now I am applying to U of T for SLP but also to 5 schools in the states cause I really loved the education system. We will see how it goes. I seriously hope people look into this! Feel free to message me if you have any questions about it! http://comd.usu.edu/htm/distance-education/online-post-bachelors-degree/onlinegrad-overview

Everything officially sent in and approved! Let the longest 3 months of our lives begin... Good luck everyone!

Hey Caligirl88! I have just completed the 2nd Bachelors from USU and submitting all my grad apps, I will definitely keep you posted on how it all pans out. I'm receiving a BSc in Communicative Disorders and Deaf education, and I am applying to NYU, BU, Northwestern, U of Washington MedSLP, and Vandy in the states as well as U of T in Canada. Sorry I won't be any help with Cali schools! -
Canadians applying to American SLP programs
LMZ replied to LMZ's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Hi Sayjo! I haven't looked into Rush, I will do that now! As a Canadian I feel out of the loop on a lot of American schools, all the info I get is from online. I am definitely more interested in the medical side of things. Thanks so much for your response! -
thank you hj2012!

Hey Everyone, I've been lurking this site for a while trying to see if others are in the same boat as me, but it was all pretty old info, so I figured I'd re-ignite a chat (hopefully) about applying to SLP programs. I should be sending everything off finalized in the next two weeks, but I am a Canadian student with one degree in Human Kinetics (university of Ottawa) and one in Communication Disorders from Utah State University (entirely online). My GPA is fairly strong, but I have yet to write the GRE test. I am wondering where other people are applying and if anyone can shed some light on me about the schools I'm applying to (moreso than what you can get from the websites) and any success stories would be nice to hear as well. Applying to: University of Washington (MedSLP), Boston University, Northwestern University, University of Toronto, and New York U, I have recently been eyeing Vanderbilt as well. any chats about the application process and schools are welcome!!
