  1. No idea, but I was wondering if anyone else has told potential future employers about applying for a Fulbright? I decided to not broadcast it up front, but I was just curious about how others have addressed this!
  2. I'm absolutely terrified about this month but I know that I did the best I could and I'm working on alternative plans. Wishing you all the best!
  3. Keep your chin up! But I understand and sympathize completely. I'm concerned that refugees are a risky group to work with, especially refugee women. But you have to keep telling yourself you did everything you could possibly due to submit a feasible and unique topic, you contacted everyone you could possibly think of to help support your research, and you submitted something you're proud of (I assume). There is a demand for work on these topics and someone somewhere will see that. If I were you, I would be proud I didn't submit something conventional. Your topic does sound really interesting and someone will see that, whatever the case. Has anyone applied for a research grant on a similar topic in the host country?
  4. My bad...overlooked the "insert" tab. Sorry for the false alarm!
  5. I have a silly, overly-cautious question to ask about the spreadsheet. I thought I put my information on the sheet, but don't see it. How do I insert a new row (for example "Armenia" alphabetically between Andorra and Australia)? I just don't want to screw anything up, so I thought I would ask. It's been a hot minute since I had to use the spreadsheets. Thanks!
  6. Shoot, looks like they did. I'll add my info, too
  7. I actually found out that the girl/family friend I used to babysit is applying for an ETA to Armenia as well (I'm applying for full research, not ETA). Small world!
  8. Totally understandable. Well, I am trying to move to DC, so that might not ease the anxiety if they're reading the applications in the same exact city. A past Fulbright friend of mine suggested to find alternate routes to the country I'm applying to just in case. Even if you're not currently in school, there are plenty of options. Or just watch SNL and eat Christmas candy. That helps, too
  9. Definitely! Sounds like you have a lot of great plans, that's wonderful. I, too, am applying for a number of back-up plans as well as being a little too OCD with this Fulbright. I'm surprised I haven't yet learned of anyone else who has applied for a Fulbright to Armenia. Hopefully, we can all help keep each other sane....
  10. So, how do you keep calm while waiting? Keep busy? Keep networking in the US and the host country?
  11. Phew! Minor panic attack....thanks for clearing that up, Ibette!
  12. Hi all! I'm new to this forum and decided to join because I'm going through crazy anxiety during the waiting process. I've researched everything I could POSSIBLY find about Fulbright, the national screening committee, what my host country is looking for, etc. Little bit about me: I have recently received my M.S. in Cultural Anthropology and have applied for a Fulbright research grant for Armenia 2014-2015. I want to work with ethnic Armenian refugee women from Syria, Iraq, and Azerbaijan, in a very tiny nutshell. I won't bore you with the specifics, but I welcome any advice/pep talks and would be glad to reciprocate. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
