I was the other person, and, no, I didn't think to ask all of those questions, but I do think that the staff person said that we will all be sent emails instructing us to check the Embark website soon, once they receive confirmation from the dean. Hopefully by the end of the week! I don't know the size of the cohort details, etc.
  2. Anyone who got into Cornell going to visit? If so, when were you thinking of going?
  3. I'm wondering about my chances at a few schools that I know have already sent out their "first round" of admissions, (mine not being one of them). Specifically, Harvard, Berkeley, and U of Chicago have all accepted people. Has anyone been officially rejected? If not, should I take my non-acceptance as early rejection? I realize it's not over until the fat lady sings, and even if one is rejected by a school, they can go ahead and rescind this if they want and accept you--this happened to my brother-- but overall, what do you think my chances are here?

  6. can i just know that i got in yet?!

  7. Negative on the New School. I know it sounds cool and everything, but they are really bad about funding, not to mention treating their few graduating doctorates well by finding them jobs (they don't post their stats for a reason). I spoke w/ three of their grad students this past August at the ASA and they all hated life.
