  2. Anyone who has done a previous undergrad at U of T can log into ROSI and see!!!!!
  3. OMG! Logged into my old ROSI account and it looks like I was accepted! Background! I did my first undergrad at U of T Registration - Fall 2014 - SW MSW 1 Degree Master of Social Work (1yr) (SW MSW 1) Status Invited Full-time or Part-time Full Time Session in which you entered program Fall 2014 Year of Study 1 Registration - Winter 2015 - SW MSW 1
  4. Dannika_star, My sentiments exactly, I already have an HBSc specializing in Psychology with Minors in African Studies and Women and Gender Studies, plus this BSW as of June. As much as I would also love to be done with school forever (until I'm like 45 or 50 and decide to do a PhD lol), I've already started applying for positions in the social work field and could use the money! Either way things will work out for the best - more money or finishing school lol :-)
  5. I think some time out of school, focusing just on work and my family will be good for me... Good for us *shrugs* I'm already at peace with it lol
  6. My status still says Under Review as well. I think it takes a while to update, just like initially when they needed to manually change it from "documents pending" to "under review". I'm all kinds of anxious at this point... I've convinced myself that I'm not getting in and have already started coming up with a concrete plan B lol. I've decided that it isn't the end of the world if I don't get in, plus my GPA wasn't incredibly strong compared to many other applicants who have applied.
  7. I keep going back and forth regarding whether or not my GPA, experience and letters of intent were strong enough...
  8. This is going to be a long week I've decided that starting the 6th, I will actually start making calls home to find out if anything has arrived in the mail for me from U of T lol!!! Soooo anxious AND worried :-(
  9. Should we be hearing from U of T (for the advanced standing) next week ish? Decisions were made by the 10th last year... Based on last years thread. I'm so incredibly anxious lol I just want to find out so that I can move on with my life
  10. Congrats for making it onto the waitlist!!!! Especially considering how tough they are with the experience requirement!
  11. Smpalesh, You have an amazing GPA and great experience! I'm extremely surprised that you haven't received an acceptance email! You must be so anxious without knowing what's going on with your application :-( I've heard that Laurier is tough with the experience component whereas U of T does not actually require it, it's more of a good to have. I know people who were admitted with high GPAs and no experience to U of T's MSW program.
  12. Congrats on your acceptance!!!! You must be ecstatic!
  13. Less than a month for the decisions for U of T's advanced standing program Sooooo anxious about it.... I keep trying to come up with a plan B in the even that I do not get in... Work for a year, maybe go a different rout. Maybe apply to a counselling masters program instead next year... *Sighs*
  14. kathclemens, your info sounds like mine. I have a 3.62 GPA in the courses that count towards the decision (not sure exactly how that lines up in terms of percentages, as my university only reports letter grades). I also have an A or 4.0 in my research methods course and over 3000 hours in relevant work/volunteer/placement experience and strong references. Only difference is that I have applied for the advanced standing and it sounds like you've applied for the 2 year (based on your April 15th comment)... Although I know that the decision won't be made until March for the advanced standing, I check the site daily AND shuffle back and forth between feeling extremely anxious about my application and extremely confidant lol I have also re-read my resume and letter of intent a million times since submitting them :-/ lol
  15. Probably not, it was just updated today and from what I understand it is being done manually. As long as you have all of your green check marks, yours should be updated soon as well.
  16. My status has been updated to "Under Review" - for the U of T MSW advanced standing.
  17. Smpalesh I have been thinking the exact same thing, mid-March feels so far away!!! I'm also incredibly anxious about what the future holds. Based on the threads from the past though, the time will pass quickly. I've already started working on my plan B, in the even that I am not successful with my U of T application.
  18. I chose mental health and health with the mental health focus.
  19. Hi Smpalesh, Applying for such a competitive program can provoke all kinds of anxieties and stress, I can understand that first hand and have witnessed it just by reading though last year's grad forum thread. A 3.7 (aka an A-) is a great GPA though and your volunteer experience also sounds pretty great! Paid experience is not a requirement for admissions. It sounds like you have a strong application.
  20. Hi Jaylynn That's for one year at York. Since I am applying for 2014 Angela said that they would use the GPA of first year of the two year post-degree program, and that they would convert it over to their 4 point scale. My CGPA for my first undergrad was a 3.23, however Angela said that they wouldn't actually look at that at all. It's difficult to say what's "good enough" since it's supposed to be based on a combination of factors. If I don't get in this time around my plan is to work for a year and maybe take summer courses and then re-apply for 2015. You're applying for the HBSW at Lakehead too? From what I understand, that's a good plan B! I didn't know about the 1-year HBSW program, otherwise I would have applied to that instead of the 2 year.
  21. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, however I did read through last year's thread and found it incredibly insightful! I am currently applying to U of T's advanced standing MSW program. Some background: In 2011 I wanted to apply to U of T's 2 year MSW program, however my grade in research methods was below the recommended mid-B average. As a result, I applied to York's 2 year MSW program, as well as their post-degree BSW program (my plan B ). I didn't get into the MSW program, but I did get into the Post-degree BSW, which I am now in the process of completing. During the post degree I managed to get an A in research methods and feel more confident about applying to the U of T's advanced standing program (I chose not to apply to York's this time around because I want a program with more of a clinical focus). I will admit that I am still extremely nervous about my application, as I do not have an exceptionally strong average 7.33 (on a 9 point scale) or a 3.63 (on a 4 point scale). While I do have a few years of volunteer and paid experience, I'm not sure that it's enough. The wait until March is going to be excruciating...
