  1. I would like some feedback about my GRE scores. I have a 162 v and 4.5 a, which is ok. However, I have a 147 q. It is not even worth trying to improve my q score. I was always very poor in math. I don't think this should disqualify me since my interests are literacy and psychology. Am I wrong though? I am applying to HGSE and applied to NYU. Will I nit be considered at all due to my low q score?
  2. I just got my rejection. Go check the site everyone!
  3. I am feeling oh so thankful there are so many people at my house to keep me distracted this weekend. Seriously, I also think this is because nearly everyone else has released decisions!
  4. I am afraid it won't be today, and even though I anticipate a rejection, I would just like the waiting to end...
  5. To tdix09. Which schools offer to pay at the Master's level? I am aware of schools that pay at the doctorate level, but not at the masters. Not paying, unfortunately, has to be priority number one for me! Thanks.
  6. Well I had a worse experience with the Boston Teacher Residency. They gave out a specific day for notifications and then made me wait all that day til 5:40 to reject me. Why in the world wouldn't you just send out your rejections early to let those poor people not worry all day? I thought it was needlessly cruel.
  7. I am not sure the value in making up a false result, but, that doesn't seem to be true,
  8. I will just be glad when the official rejection comes because then I will finally stop thinking of all this, at least til next year when hopefully I find the right program, with the right funding.
  9. I am in favor of some of these things, but not all of them. The one partner I do not approve of is TFA. It is my personal opinion that TFA is not the way to do alternative teacher licensing. People have a lot of varied opinions here though.
  10. Congrats to everyone who got accepted. I am excited for all the great things you will contribute to education!
  11. I got rejected to be a teaching resident, to get my license in teaching, even though I have been an uncertified teacher for 6 years. So it is utterly hopeless for me to get into a top school for school leadership. Apparently I am unfit to do what I already do!
  12. Oh sad. I won't be trying again either.
  13. I spoke with admissions this am. They said the invites just started to go out. I still think if we haven't heard by Friday it isn't a good sign. I have oh so little hope but will try to keep some alive til then.
  14. I haven't seen anyone on this site get an interview and all they will confirm is that they have begun to send invitations. I think if we haven't heard by the end of the day on Friday that it is pretty safe to assume we won't. I would like it though if they just told us when the invitations have gone out. The hoping against hope part sucks!
  15. Thanks Caliteacher. Looking bad for me too. Oh well. It was always an extreme long shot though I now need a few more plan b ideas for my career.
  16. I hope someone who uses this forum gets an edld interview so I at least know when the wait is over
  17. Yeah I emailed again today but their line on this one is "early February" and they aren't giving other details.
  18. I just wish they all went out a particular week, though logistically that might be difficult. I know the uncertainty will keep me hoping against hope for nearly the whole month of February.
  19. Sure, this was the exact text: Thank you for your email. Ed.L.D. applicants who are chosen for an interview will be notified by our office via email in early February. Should you have any further questions, please let us know. That fits with what people posted last year too.
  20. They told me the invites would go out in early February.
  21. To the current EdLD student, I have a question. It seems from the profiles that everyone in the cohorts has been a school principle at minimum and more likely managers and department heads in larger organizations. Is there anyone there who is "just" a teacher? Thanks for the insight! This has been my biggest concern in even trying to apply.
  22. I am waiting to see if I get an EDLD interview. It is kind of torture because I will be waiting and hoping right up until the last week of February knowing the odds aren't in my favor of hearing anything at all. But there is nothing to do but wait...
  23. I applied and can't wait to hear, sigh. I have a master's already. I decided not to apply anywhere else.
  24. I applied this year, but don't feel like I have done enough professionally yet to have a chance. I wanted to apply to a variety of programs but I can't go without full funding and I decided a PhD just isn't for me since I don't want to work in academia. I hate waiting so long now, especially since I have no plan b right now!
