    No word yet

I want to hear from them. Just a peep. The application was a lil expensive.

I've got a tattoo of my face on my face, except slightly off-center.
  6. I'll be 21, and I'm pretty short/look younger than I am. If I end up having to TA.... eeee. It will be interesting.
  7. I'm still waiting to hear back about funding from Pitt. No worries; schools are just getting this stuff worked out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - I'm sure you'll be hearing some good news soon! Good luck
  8. I can't wait to understand the reason I've yet to translate any meaning besides, it's not worth it to try .... lyrics related to the app process/grad school?
  9. tbh it's a really progressive town. Craig Lowe, the guy currently running for mayor, is openly gay. There are good gay clubs that do different events on different nights (although I've heard complaints that it's always "the same crowd"). Also, definitely check out the Civic Media Center (they do a lot of queer-friendly events). I guess the areas surrounding Gainesville can be kind of "redneck", but on/around campus, it's an extremely open, welcoming town. http://www.gainesvillepride.org/index.php if you need any more info!
  10. I check it immediately! I have no desire to prolong the waiting period. I star the acceptances on gmail so I can read them again and again
  11. Hey, I'm at UF now. I don't know if I'll still be here next year (keeping my fingers crossed for Pitt), but I'll offer some help nonetheless! Don't do anything through Paradigm properties, and I'd stay away from Trimark as well. A lot of the apartment complexes are FULL of undergrads and are extremely loud/disgusting. Do not stay at the Courtyards. It is cheap and close to campus, but mushrooms started growing out of my friend's carpet bc of how nasty it is. I'd stay away from Gainesville Place, the Estates, and Jefferson 2nd as well. Hope you like football - anywhere around the campus goes nuts on game days (but it's so much fun!!!!) Gainesville is also a little expensive without roommates, but you can find cute little places if you just drive around. I suggest living in the area directly northeast of campus (off 13th st and university ave. Oh, and I don't think it's too easy to get around here without a car. Just sayin.

  13. I don't know if this thread is serious or not but it's kind of funny. "I have an actual life"/aka I've got the highest overall post count out of anyone in this entire thread. Hee hee. I'd stay neutral about the financial thing - it could be bad or good. No use in getting yourself all worked up about it, only to have it be some form email they send.

Hey good luck with whatever you choose! In the perfect world, we all get funded through super nice departments

A wet bar!!! Brownies!!! YES! But tbh I probably won't pm you until I know for sure about the funding... then I'll want to hear allll about Pitt because it's where I'll end up. I'd hate to get my hopes up about it and hear that I'm not going to be able to go. I was told that my chances for funding were "very high", but I still hate waiting. Hopefully I'll be seeing you in the fall!
