  1. Thanks for that edit! I want to continue to believe I have a shot!
  2. No idea, only know of interviews for NT.
  3. Besides NT, seems like they don't release decisions until the last week of Feb. historically.
  4. Fair point; I wasn't contextualizing the data as you have.
  5. This only pertains to ATS accredited institutions, but it gives you a breakdown of where the most seminary faculty are coming from: http://www.ats.edu/uploads/resources/publications-presentations/documents/tenure-and-other-faculty-facts-part-2.pdf
  6. I think this depends in large part what type of academic position is being aimed at; TT in RS at State School U or at a Seminary/Divinity School or other "religious" institution? For example, Drew places well in the latter category according to the data from ATS, but I suspect not quite as well in the former category. Not trying to stir up debate, but I do believe the distinction between religious studies and theological/divinity studies is important, and often ignored (or maybe I've just spent too much time reading for my upcoming theory & method comprehensive examination). FWIW, a faculty member at Temple I spoke with regarding interest in their program said that they have had difficulty placing recent grads in any TT jobs. A brief look at Iowa's website indicates they have also struggled.
  7. Woke up this AM to an e-mail from Northwestern telling me to check the portal. I already knew it was a rejection since I didn't get an interview. I'm more pissed that it came on a weekend. Is nothing sacred?
  8. Argh. Another week gone by and still no news from any of the rel. programs I applied to. Practicing some healthy escapism tonight and going to see John Wick 2 instead of reading for comps.
  9. Also rejected from Michigan (decision was in the portal). Pretty expected, as my MA's are in Comparative Religion and Sport Studies and I don't have an Anthro undergrad. UM was the only Anthro program I applied to.
  10. Rejected from Michigan's Anthro. program. Expected, but still stings. They have several students doing interesting work on contemporary religion in America.
  11. That seems to line up with past yrs. Assuming a few days to a week for admitted students to clear GSAS, seems like letters could go out the next week (of course, with potential unofficial phone calls or e-mails sooner).
  12. I haven't. I think they typically release later in February though, so don't worry yet!
  13. Really expected to hear *something* a week into Feb. This wait is excruciating, and its beginning to get unnerving.
  14. This is why I haven't reported certain responses, as I'd bee asked to keep them confidential. Other responses I've been more apt to post on the results page *because* its not tied to my screen name or GC identity. As to your second point: this is something that I've heard articulated before. It would be interesting to compare GC applicants to the "average" applicant. I've also heard it said that out of the hundreds of applications some departments receive, many shouldn't have bothered submitting. I've always wondered what that means. Putting together an application takes hours, even if you put in the bare minimum effort. Who are these people paying hundreds of dollars and many hours applying who haven't also done some research about it?
  15. FWIW, Northwestern's portal says "materials needed" even for candidates that have been interviewed, so it may or may not mean something. Regardless, I don't think its intruding to e-mail the graduate admissions coordinator or secretary to check as @runningwithquills suggested.
  16. There's a thread going on the philosophy board about why people might not include GRE scores when reporting results. I've noticed that there are a number of "results" reported on the forum that are not on the results page, and I'm curious as to "why not report results (interviews, acceptance, rejection) etc. As several on the philosophy thread pointed out, more data helps the future generations put together a better picture of this nebulous and anxiety inducing process. Also, I'm trying to do literally anything to keep myself from refreshing my inbox, and maybe you need a distraction too.
  17. A Harvard MA can only hep you in future rounds of applications. Agree with @Averroes MD, definitely at least apply in case you don't get accepted to any other PhD programs.
  18. From your previous post it seems like you are applying straight from undergrad? This could be one reason why. While most programs say they accept applicants without MA's, in practice I think many admitted to PhD's have at least one M* degree.
  19. I've had requests from POI's to keep the information they have shared with me confidential, to varying degrees. Personally, I've simply held off reporting anything at all until given the OK. But even then, I've tried to respect their sentiments by keeping results as anonymous as possible.
  20. Because, as @hopefulPhD2017 and @Turretin said: I think this is especially pertinent if the informal acceptance comes, say, before the application cutoff.
  21. FWIW, I've not included mine in results because the specific combination of scores could be an identity marker. I think this is particularly a concern (even if minor) for programs that have given an informal acceptance very early in the season.
  22. Based on past years, it seems like Northwestern results could come out by the end of this week or next. Also seems like UVA could start trickling out next week. Keep your heads up friends, our fates will soon be decided.
  23. I hope you hear back soon. That limbo is worse than not hearing anything at all. If you don't mind me asking, who are you hoping to work with at Harvard and UVA? I don't have much hope of getting in to either, but I did apply to both for Am. Rel. Hist. (PM if you're not comfortable sharing publicly).
