Even if its generic, I don't think UVA send out a massive bunch of waitlists, so you may have a real shot. Hopefully as people start accepting offers we'll see some waitlist movement as well — at least I hope so for you and others in that position! As of last week UVA had indicated that 3 of their 13 offers had been accepted.

Anything out of UPenn this week? I know they said by March 6, but I was really hoping that we'd hear by the end of this week.

I did this last week and received responses from each within hours, and no one seemed to take offense. I indicated I needed to make decisions, but wanted to hear from them before deciding. I think its perfectly acceptable to contact them.

Presuming a rejection from Harvard, I'm just waiting for UPenn decisions to roll out before I make a final decision. Would be great if they could release sometime this week...

Looks like a rejection for UPenn was posted yesterday for someone who interviewed... really not sure what that means for those of us who didn't get an interview, and have yet to hear. I would think non-interviewees would be rejected first!

Damn, not sure I've ever heard of an applicant with so many waitlists in one season. Being #2 in line seems like pretty good news though. Here's to hoping you get in somewhere!

I know they have done some interviews, but have no idea if this is for everyone or just specific subfields.

For those waiting on UPenn: I solicited a response, and they indicated that decisions have not been finalized, but that they will be by March 6.

Congrats on the interview at Georgetown! For both of my acceptances, I did receive an unofficial e-mail from my POI prior to official acceptance through the portal. But, I suspect this both depends on the department and the individual.

One of the acceptances was my subfield... And Harvard really isn't a great "fit" for me anyway. So I'm not holding out.

3 Harvard acceptances now posted folks. Seems today was indeed the day. Now if they could just send rejections today too I'd be grateful.

Historical results data, from the looks of it. Also they seem to have vetted some candidates already since several have noted being bumped down to MTS applications.

I feel the same way, though at least I know 3 of 4 schools I'm waiting on are only just starting to release acceptances, or haven't yet. It's UVA that is really killing me since they presumably notified admits 3ish weeks ago and I've still heard nothing. Every time I tell my partner about a rejection she feels bad for me and I have to insist its OK because at this point, I just want to know where I'm going to end up and every rejection just narrows down the possibilities further.
