Hello everyone! I haven't posted on this thread since last year, but have been following itclosely again as I completed my applications to Lakehead and Dalhousie.
This was my second time applying -- I was placed on a waitlist last year and in the end was not admitted.
I just wanted to share with everyone that Lakehead has updated the application status in the "myinfo" portal! I applied for both the Orillia and Thunder Bay campus and was admitted to Orillia this afternoon (My heart is still pounding)! Good luck to everyone else pursuing this path, I understand the anxiety and turmoil that comes with the waiting game quite well!

Indeed, thank you KatRousi, for that inspiring post. I think we all know that you're correct, and that if this profession is what we're meant to do, than all the experiences along the way will simply enrich our skills and perspective as a social worker.
 
Not to stray too far from topic, but I'm curious how you got involved with the Cree community - that sounds like a wonderful opportunity. If you have a spare moment, do you mind sending me a private message regarding how you acquired the position (previous volunteer work, connections, etc.?) Congratulations on your acceptance at Lakehead, you earned it.
