Yes, Purdue has an unofficial waitlist. In the TAship letter, they said they'd "appreciate it" if we could notify them of our decisions by March 1st, so expect more offers to be made after then

I feel like they are maybe trying to make it sound less intimidating than "interview?" and I agree that they likely are not "having a conversation" with all of their applicants. There must be some kind of shortlist at play here.

You might get an email from the dpt before you actually hear from the grad school! At least I did when I was accepted for the MA a couple years ago. Good luck, everyone!

So frustrating!! I replied on Saturday, too. And I've no idea, but I imagine asking about your research/thesis, and future projects you could do? And how you think the program could fit? I'm just going to study their website until I know it by heart, lol, and be ready to talk about my interests and basically anything I mentioned in my SoP.

Haha, yeah, I totally feel this. It's weird because we have a J term here at Miami, so coordinating everyone's schedules and stuff is extra tricky with that. Plus, they're just behind a little bit. I got my MA acceptance on Feb 8 back in 2016 (so, should have been today! Lol)

Hopefully notifications will go out by early next week for Miami! I think they know who they want to admit but have to go through the proper channels now. And if you're admitted, prospective student weekend will be on March 9 (maybe even March 8, too)

Hope this week treats everyone well! And: anyone else going to Cs and also trying to arrange campus visits?

CONGRATS, @jvvne! And good vibes for good news today, everyone! Today I've got to explain to my thesis advisor why I didn't get anything done this weekend due to just completely freaking out. Lol.

@Wooshkuh they never emailed me back, either! I imagine they are looking into all of the times we provided and trying to get a reasonable schedule for the admissions committee (so, maybe they can do x amount on the same day or something?). This interview makes me nervous, because I don't know what to expect. Lol. Yes, Michigan's program is really unique! I had a prof who went there, too, and I love her work. It's definitely not a traditional rhet/comp degree, though, so that's something to think about. And, gosh, @EspritHabile will officially reach rockstar status!!

I'm a PhD applicant, and I was accepted to Purdue and Michigan (English and Education), have an interview for Syracuse CCR, and am waiting to hear back from Miami Ohio, Ball State, and East Carolina. I'm currently at Miami finishing my MA, so if y'all who applied have any questions about the program, feel free to pm me! And my sources tell me that we will hear soon... I'm hoping by next week??

Congrats! Awesome news! And yes, you all, I applied to a PhD program. But please don't stress! Purdue has a weird system where they keep all applications open until their cohorts are filled, so you're not out of the running until you officially get a rejection.

I really don't think they're doing interviews! I have a friend who was admitted last year -- she was admitted 1/31 and then was later invited to the event. So, I feel like they're maybe just behind on notifications this year?! Gosh, I don't even know if I can sleep because I'm so anxious now! Lol.

Okay, reading through the links, I am pretty sure it's for undergrads... Definitely seems so? But they may have just wanted to time it all together?! Because our visit is also on the 20th
