Yep, after a whole lot of rejections, I received an offer from Chicago's CIR with 1/3 tuition relief. I'm not too sure what I'll do. Anyone know the acceptance rate for CIR?

I haven't been accepted by Chicago, and I haven't heard anything about MAPSS. I'm assuming that it will be a long shot for me to get an offer for the MA program at this point and that I'll be shut out altogether.

Saw some people receive partially funded MA offers from Chicago on the rejections wave. Thinking that since I haven't heard anything from Chicago that I've been shut out altogether......

Just saw a Chicago rejection. Is that presumed or actual? I haven't heard anything.

Well, I've received official rejections from Cornell, Princeton, University of Washington, and Ohio State. I wasn't accepted or placed on a wait list at Chicago and haven't heard back from MIT. I also applied to Yale, but that's even more of a long shot than other schools to which I applied. I'm just hoping that I can get an offer for MAPPS at Chicago as a fall back option. My experience over the past month has been a tough pill to swallow.

After seeing all of the MIT acceptances, I'm pretty sure I'll be 0-for-7 in this cycle. It's crushing. I'm not sure how I should go about the next year or so or if I'll even apply again....

Has anyone STILL not received a response from the University of Washington?

It might take Chicago a little longer because they also have to decide which rejected applicants will be accepted into the masters program. There are also funding decisions for the masters acceptances.

I'm also snowed in today, so the wait is going to be much more agonizing! Thankfully the Gradcafe exists!

So who still hasn't heard back from the University of Washington? I'm patiently waiting for any sort of email from their department

Still haven't gotten a thumbs up or thumbs down from the University of Washington. I wonder if they're sending the rejections in waves.

Just received confirmation that MIT will be announcing their decisions in late February.

Just sent a short email to MIT asking about their admissions timeline. I'll report back if I hear anything!

I noticed the University of Washington sent out some rejection notices via mass email. I was neither accepted nor officially rejected yet. Does this mean I've been wait-listed?

Well, I guess I can presume that Princeton will be a rejection as well.....

Just got the Cornell rejection. They had 344 applicants and an average incoming class size of 12. Disappointing, but admittedly it wasn't the greatest fit.

The nervousness is starting to compound. I've been rejected by OSU, and presumably rejected by Cornell, University of Washington, and Chicago. Three more to go. Best of luck to everyone, and congrats to everyone who's been accepted!

I'm thinking MIT's decisions might come out on Thursday or Friday. They've announced their acceptances the first Thursday and Friday of February for the past two years.

While that may certainly be a pattern, I don't think we should regard past results as a sure-fire indicator of what's going to happen this year. Remember that the Ohio State admissions process threw us all for a loop. We only have data on the last two years - only a small sample - and as good social scientists should not make sweeping generalizations based on a small number of cases!

Thinking that Chicago is going to release their first wave of results tomorrow. They've done so on the first Tuesday of February the past two years.

So, I wasn't contacted by a POI from OSU, and my app still says pending. I'm just going to assume that means a rejection at this point... Time to move on.

But yeah, it's an agonizing wait. I'm there with you. Nothing has come close to this.
