I mean honestly I'd be happy just to know the decision, even if it's a rejection. Can start taking everything more seriously once the decisions are finalized.
It looks like (best case scenario) you could get 7 schools -- do they not all fit in the 8 weeks of feb/march? Sometimes you can fit multiple visits in to one weekend if they're nearby.
If not, yeah, you're in a tricky spot.
Yeah, I just ended up keeping two weekends open for the schools I'm still waiting for. MIT is easy to plan around, because their only visit weekend (I believe) is the last weekend in March.
Metallocene, I heard from Irvine spookily early (like December 9). And I'm a US student.. Sorry I can't be of more help to you, hope you hear from them soon!
Metallocene -- from what you posted, it sounds like the Chemistry department probably just requires the IEPE despite your exceeding the minimum TOEFL score. Probably gonna have to just do the interview, unfortunately. Best of luck!
onceinalifetime, not who you asked, but I got into Irvine as well -- I did research for three summers as an undergrad, throughout my senior year as part of a senior thesis, and for another year (now, as a gap year) at a government lab. Hope you hear back from them soon!
You get any publications out of all that research, or just presentations?
Honestly you've got all of the right stats, so MIT/Harvard will probably come down to quality of LORs/SOP. What did you decide to do?
They won't get that information, right? Assuming you've already submitted your transcripts.
I would say drop it if you're not interested in the material and can switch to more appropriate stuff.
