  1. Wow! $1000/ month! Does anyone know a general price for off campus housing in a safe part of town?
  2. Developing a new habit out of grad cafe, exercising, playing out both fantasies and dystopias about my future in my head. AND I ONLY APPLIED THREE DAYS AGO!! ARGGGG
  3. I understand your fears, but at the end of the day, it's not like a Ph.D. or masters degree can hurt your chances of doing something else, even if it's in a completely different field. People will just think you're one of those people who wants to understand the world from all its angles, and that's never a bad thing. Keep in there! I'm freaking out about admissions too, just hoping I get in somewhere. Grad school isn't a lifetime commitment. I might think that this is EXACTLY what I want to do with the rest of my life, but ten years down the road I might change my mind. We're still young. If you love it now, do it. Leave your future problems to your future self.
  4. Yeah, the city seems awesome. It's so pretty there and really has a vibe all its own. I guess my only worry is that the hippies will be those pretentious "cooler-than-thou" type of hippies. Don't get me wrong, I love me some hippies, but I just hope that it's not a bunch of undergrads who think that they are tres awesome just because they have dreads or something. I'm sure there are people like that at every college, but being that SC is known to have a liberal feeling to it, I just hope its not the annoying kind. Ugh, I sound so judgmental.
  5. I'm from the West coast so it made sense to do my credential in CA. And it's cold on the east coast. Do you know if it's true that if I have my teacher's credential from CA that I can't teach in states other than CA?
  6. Bumping this one up. Has anyone lived in the graduate dorms on campus or know what they are like? The city seems really cool and I'd be happy to be a future banana slug.
  7. SO MUCH STRESS! I turned in my apps yesterday and now I realize I have another month of nerves and self-doubt ahead of me. Great.
  8. With most application deadlines over, where are all my future teachers? Where did everyone apply? I am already stressed out and there's still over a month before decisions! Hopefully hearing from other nervous people will make me feel better I applied for secondary math at Stanford STEP, and UC Santa Cruz MA Education/Teaching Credential Also, any other future math teachers out there?
