  1. Just bought readers (to wear WITH my contacts) at Walmart because I'm too broke to go to the eye doctor and too broke to buy new bifocal lenses for my glasses/contacts. But on the plus side, now I can see.

      Yeah, you can't really get around that part, unless you can use an old prescription (assuming your vision hasn't changed that much). There might be a small fee to get another copy though.

      If there is an optometry program offered at a nearby school, try to find out if they offer cheap vision exams. I remember once going to a dental clinic and got a wisdom tooth removed from a medical student. Only $25 per tooth and $10 for the X-ray. What a bargain!
