  1. Let's just hope that you can find a very prolific lab for your thesis!
  2. So far I have two admission offers, and they both have just stipend, and don't require students to TA or get competitive fellowship from external sources. And they both have pretty good health insurance for students, but I believe I still have to pay a small portion of the total costs. but it covers general health insurance and both eyes and dental.
  3. Congrats!! I'm actually interviewing at BCM this week. Although the program is different from yours, it's good to know these positive opinions about their environment and community before I get there.
  4. I usually look back and see how much I "enjoyed" the conversations with faculty you interviewed with and other program members you had an opportunity to talk to. If you felt that you had a great time talking to them, then chances are that they did enjoy as well. Also, I always send "thank you" email to these faculty and when I get replies with some positive comment on the admission decision, I just assume that I would have a good chance of receiving an offer.
  5. I would personally recommend going even if you have offers in your hands already. I think each interview is a great opportunity to learn things that you can't from school website or brochure. You might end up liking the school a lot, who knows.
  6. Thanks! who knows, we might end up seeing at Hershey this Fall!
  7. Hooray, I just received a phone call that I got accepted to Penn State Hershey! 2 interviews and 2 acceptances so far! Ive got 2 more interviews, so I wanna keep up this trend!
  8. Congrats! seems like acceptance letters are flying out every where tonight
  9. I would totally email them! When I emailed to faculty at my last interview, one of them actually responded saying that he enjoyed the conversation and hoping that the program would offer me an admission. In a time like this, knowing how exactly the interviews went from their perspectives helps anticipating the future. I think
  10. "Thank you" emails are sort of must-do thing nowadays. I did that to all the faculty members with whom I interviewed and also program coordinator and interacted students. and I agree that sending out any new "positive" documents to support your application would improve your app.
  11. Ok thanks, I will try it now and see if I could get in touch with him.
  12. I'm sorry to hear that... which program did you apply at UT Austin? I still havent heard from CMB program at UT Austin yet. and I think their second interview weekend starts from today... I dont know whats going on.
  13. Congrats! and just curious, when did you interview at Penn State Hershey? if you dont mind asking.
  14. Thanks! I think there were about just over 20 interviewees there. And everyone (students, faculty, committee, and coordinators all of them) was super nice and friendly. The that the school is in the middle of hospital campus makes it a great environment for biomedical research program. I loved that Blood Center of Wisconsin is literally right next to the campus.
  15. I just received an acceptance email from Medical College of Wisconsin. Not many people here seemed to have applied here, but from what I learned at the interview, it seems like a great program. Funding is 100% guaranteed throughout the duration of my time there. I still have two more interviews coming up, but now I don't have to be so nervous about everything anymore.
  16. From what I was told at my interviews, while they really try hard to match you with faculty of your interest as much as possible, they also want you to talk to at least one member of the admissions committee too. It's just that those who had all the requested faculty in the final list were fortunate that their faculty of interest were in the committee. I wouldn't worry at all even if only one or two of your requested faculty got in the final list.
  17. Just curious, what was the interview at UPitt IBGP like? I know its kind of vague question, but I was wondering since I'm going there for interview as well in few weeks.
