  1. I'm in at Duke but I don't think I can handle only 50% funding when compared to another offer with full funding & stipend.
  2. Actually I just saw that there is an update from IU under the 'religious studies' field instead of 'religion,' so I guess everyone here already knew that. Sorry I wasted a post. Wouldn't be the first time that happened on the internet. >_> Edit: Looking back I see that in the last page or two people have already talked about Indiana... So yeah, wasted post. My excuse is I spent the last two days visiting U of MN so I haven't been checking the forum desperately as per the usual. Anyway, I got rejected too, so I feel you. I asked how many offers they were able to make, I'll let the internet know when I hear back.
  3. Indiana University is 'in the process of sending out decision letters,' if anyone would like to know. I heard from the DGS this morning.
  4. Duke's MA accepted their people today. Too bad the rumor about them offering full funding wasn't true.
  5. A bunch of people who wanted to go to Duke are now very sad.
  6. I went to Bob Jones University and I ended up selling my experience as a plus. The University of Minnesota loved my statement and offered me full funding and a sizable stipend for an MA in Religions in Antiquity. I'm probably in the exact same boat as you, just with slightly different academic interests. You'll be fine. It might take you a little longer than you'd like, but you'll be fine.
  7. I have an MA in Greek & Hebrew from a conservative evangelical seminary.
  8. I've been offered admission & stipend and this still makes me nervous
  9. University of Minnesota (MA Religions in Antiquity); Indiana University (MA Religion); University of Notre Dame (Master of Theological Studies); Duke University (MA Religion -- not funded, I know); Wake Forest University (MA Religion). I'm coming from an evangelical seminary context, and trying to get out of that world.
  10. The University of Minnesota, Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies, made me a generous offer for admission to the MA in Religions in Antiquity on Wednesday. I was mostly applying to funded MAs due to lack of personal finances, and they're the first program I've heard from.
  11. Can I ask what counts as 'generous' funding?
