UCR, Cornell, UAlbany (all PhD) and Brandeis (MA). I'm torn. I wish I could say I've made some progress... I've gotten dangerously close to choosing a name out of a hat. (Okay not really, but almost!)

The schools I've been accepted to: 1. Great fit- eh funding 2. Good fit- decent funding 3. Good fit- good funding 4. Eh fit- GREAT funding A mixed bag, to say the least. Most people are telling me to go with option 3 but it is the only one in a location I know I would be relatively unhappy in. I'm leaning towards option 4 because I think a good quality of life (I mean happiness, not just money!) will contribute just as much towards my success as a great fit (that's a personal opinion). Anyways, we'll see!

I have a Meso arch friend that got rejected from there, that's all I know!

Admitted to UCR with a very good funding offer! I've now heard back from all my schools- admitted and funded to 4 of 5. Good luck to all still waiting! Even from my end, this process seems anarchic. I have many many friends with more qualifications than I who haven't gotten in anywhere yet... I'm baffled.

To the people that post results with no subfield and no follow-up.... You're killin' us here! Show some mercy!

If I was you, I'd have my bags packed and be on the next plane! It's a great program, great environment, and a great stipend. Buy a coat and get going

Why are we getting so paranoid (myself included) about adcoms/faculty looking at grad cafe? Oh, right, because this entire process has pushed us to the brink of insanity. I actually caught myself wondering if some of the people PMing me were faculty asking me how I felt about their program. It's getting out of hand. We're going to turn on each other soon!

I've presented at their conference. I really liked it there and their graduate students all seem very enthusiastic about their work. From what I've been told, the funding there was good as well. Surrounding city was also very nice. Congrats!

Glad to know I'm not the only one! They must be making decisions soon... Right?

Anyone have visits in the Northeast coming up? I have two in March (and OF COURSE the dates had to overlap... Dangit ).

I was just about to comment on how BU rejected me via email and then informed me specifically that they are also sending a rejection letter via snail mail. In case I didn't get the hint!

Hahaha thank you so much, everyone! Honestly, you have helped me through a lot. Acceptances, rejections, the waiting nonsense... So thank you. Of all the applicants I have encountered in my travels, yours are the most... Human.

I live very close to my top choice that just rejected me... Driving past them every day is going to be rough. Let's hope we all hear some good news by the end of this week.

Rejected from BU (archaeo phd). It was my first choice. I'm super bummed but I need to remind myself I got two great acceptances. Being turned down from your top choice really really sucks though. Good luck to everyone else, I hope you hear better news than I did!
