I had time constraints that contributed to me only applying to three schools, but even then after thinking about it some more I think I really only want to go to one of those. My research field is very specific though, and I was limiting my search to well known US schools. I think if I don't get into my first choice this year I will aim closer to home and do more research and campus visits.

Waiting to hear from East Asian studies at Princeton myself. I had an interview via skype before which they told me they were impressed and that I was being actively considered. It is my first choice of school, and my Plan B is to give up on 2014 and the US all together and consider something closer to home, so I am feeling quite anxious to say the least. However I haven't heard anything at all in the weeks following the interview in January. Looking at previous years I see that people report being accepted in late Feb, even early March, but I would like to at least have some contact from them if I am still being considered to let me know how it is going.

I had an interview in mid January after being told that they were impressed by my application and that I was being actively considered. Since then I haven't heard anything! Should I send a mail to ask what the situation is, or wait it out some more?
