  1. I applied to UNC and USD. For URTA schools (UNC for me) they can't require a response to an offer before March 13 this year (this Sunday). It's almost certain that offers are out at this point, but things will probably change after this weekend as people accept offers (and turn down others). For non- URTA schools, they can set their own schedule for these things, so who knows. For USD I've heard "mid-March" for acceptances but idk what that means. At this point I assume I'm hoping I'm high on the wait list and the person that is my type that they've offered decides to go elsewhere.
  2. Honestly, at this point if you haven't heard yes, you are probably on the maybe list at best. That said, if you haven't heard no, you're probably at least in the maybe list. So there's that. Haven't heard back from three schools yet, but I'm pretty sure if they really wanted me I would have by now. :-/
  3. I hope I don't get a response today. I wouldn't know whether to believe it or not.
  4. It's getting frustrating. My lease is up soon, and I'd like to know for sure I'll be around here another year before I sign anything.
  5. Still nothing. Waiting to hear back from Indiana and WVU. I'll probably bug them again on Monday.
  6. Emailed Indiana a couple days ago just to follow up... No reply so far.
  7. I goty rejection from USD (well it must have come Saturday). I knew my audition wasn't great. They probably sent it the same day they sent yours.
  8. Bummer. Sorry to hear that Button. I haven't gotten one yet, but I think I will soon. I felt very flat and a bit tight in my USD audition. Best of luck with everything, grad school or no.
  9. And so it begins... No from Case Western today. Expected but still.
  10. Wow. Good luck!
  11. Well, I'm sure someone does. I have heard it's comm to apply several times though.
  12. Still nothing. Starting to look at monologues for next year. The nice thing is I always need new monologues to audition for local stuff, and at this point I'm developing quite a collection. We're not at the "abandon hope" phase yet, but I can't keep waiting for an email. I just have to assume that I'm not on the list and move on. If I'm wrong and something pops up, hey, great.
  13. Part of me wants to follow up with the schools I haven't heard back from and part of me feels like if you have to ask you already know...
  14. In my experience - I did get a formal rejection from every program I applied to. Most of mine came late March or early April last year (they're recorded in the results section from last year...). Pretty much what Button said though. This week and next week are probably it unless you get accepted off a waitlist. I have no experience getting an acceptance though so... Button - no, nothing from USD yet, though I don't feel great about my audition so I expect to get the letter again in about a month.
  15. Didn't apply there sorry. I've heard back from Temple (no) but omly because I specifically asked. Had a campus visit/audition at UGA last week. Have one scheduled for Catholic University of America later this month (anyone have any thoughts on their program??). Still nothing definite from anyone. If I don't hear back by the end of next week I think I officially start to despair. The waiting is driving me crazy.
  16. Back through this again. I found the feedback and coordination here to be very helpful last year, so I'm starting a new thread for this year. For URTAs, we can't even hear anything until February 16, but I'm still obsessing about it already. This year I only directly applied to USD. I also participated in URTAs and Satellites in NY. I think my auditions went well, or as well as one could reasonably hope. I did fine and that's all I can control. From URTAs I was called back by Indiana, Temple, and WVU. At Satellites I was called back by UGA and Catholic University of America. I was called back by other schools too but they weren't a good fit for me. I also auditioned for Case Western/Cleveland Playhouse as a walk in. Anyone else?
  17. Hi Button, Went pretty well. The only school I directly applied to was USD. I focused more on URTAs this year. Got a good amount of interest. Got follow up interviews from Temple, Indiana, WVU, UGA, Catholic University of America. I also dropped in on Case Western's auditions (no audition fee, walk-ins welcome. They didn't call me back after the URTA satellites, but I'd auditioned for them already so I assume that means they already saw me and didn't need to (though it might be a bad sign?? who knows). I don't think my USD audition went particularly well (thought it went better last year) but lots of interest from URTAs gives me hope something will pan out that I actually am interested in. Now I just wait...
  18. Coming up soon! On your list, I auditioned for USD and URTAs last year (and will again). USD was a warm room. Just go and do your thing. A few get to know you questions, and a thanks. They seemed very pleasant, had a good vibe (but obviously didn't get in). URTAs - It's a stress factory. If you could harvest nervous energy you could power lower Manhattan with the stress in the room during the candidate meeting. Be calm. Know you're prepared. Spend your warm up time relaxing and reinforcing yourself. Also - the candidate meeting is early, and you may not audition for another hour or more, so have a plan of what you would like to do (hopefully something that is relaxing for you). I'd strongly advise leaving and coming back about 1/2 hour before your audition call rather than staying in the room if you can. Also, AFTER you audition, you probably will have a good chunk of time before they hand out the call back papers. So plan to do. I went and watched a movie. Oh, and one more thing, bring a phone charger or be sure to save battery life on your phone. If you do get called back you'll want to review the faculty at the school(s) you were called back for so you can ask reasonably intelligent questions. Last year I was running out of battery life and it was a race against time... :-) Break a leg!
  19. WOW! That's Awesome Awesome Bird! :-) I'm prepping for the 2015 auditions and I logged in to see the thread from last year... and I saw this. So cool! Glad to hear it. I'm in the area. Maybe I'll see you around. I'd love to chat and meet your bulldog. I really like some of the folks at UNC. Ray Dooley is just a magician on stage, and Katheryn Hunter-Williams - never seen her give a bad performance. Aces. I'll be heading to NYC again in January. Wish me luck.
  20. Yeah, got my mail from USD yesterday too. Time to start working on my set for next year.
  21. Yeah, I think that's about right. I really just do theatre, but I'd love to do TV work. There's some in Charlotte (about 3 hrs west) and some in Wilmington (about 2.5 hrs east). It's hard to tell what's bull crap from what is a real audition etc without an agent, but I need to get off my butt and really figure that out. I don't think it's really the kind of place you'd go to launch your movie career. I think most of the work you get booked for here is still very extra/day player stuff, which doesn't really build a resume, but even that would be fun. I have a full time job though, so theatre is much more geared to my schedule. Nothing here pays (at least no enough to have it be a primary source of income) so theatre rehearsal schedules are after work/weekend hours.
  22. I love Shakespeare. So much fun (yeah... USD/Old Globe ... sigh). Right now I'm prepping for Theseus in Two Noble Kinsmen. Anyone else working on something fun? [oh, and one good thing about not getting in to grad school this year: local company is doing Coriolanus... that's a bucket list role for me]
  23. Sorry for that Button. I'm pulling for you next year. Nothing here but I'm east coast so the mail may take a while I imagine. I have to say that USD is on my list of schools to apply to again. The audition was really friendly and positive. Plus the program zomg.
  24. Still nothing in the mail and no phone call. The waiting game continues... No, I haven't heard from UNC. I heard a rumor that they had sent offers but had not closed the class (i.e. not all offers had confirmed acceptance... maybe someone is waiting on USD, lol). Now that was just a RUMOR. I live near UNC, and I heard from a friend that they talked to "X" and X said that the offers had all been extended. But that's just a rumor, so take it with a large grain of salt. Either way I think my initial audition was great, but my call back was only so-so, so I am not super pumped about it. Also there's a guy currently there that probably is close to my "type" so I think that's working against me too. Still, who knows? Oh, and I have been putting in my responses into the results section... I think most of the MFA Acting/Drama results from 2014 are mine... all rejections sadly. (EDIT: Isn't it kind of odd that there's loads of PhD in drama/theatre logged but very few MFA?)
  25. Just checked the mail. Still nothing, though I live on the East Coast so if I'm getting a thin envelope it will probably take another day or two to get here. I got TWO phone calls after 3:00 today (I assume that theater people aren't getting together to make any decisions before noon, so 3:00 my time). My heart jumped both times. But it wasn't USD. Heh.
