A friend of mine is declining Missouri and Oklahoma offers today (and Purdue and Iowa in the near future). If you're wait listed for either admission or funding at any of those four schools, keep an eye on your email!

Rejected from Texas. My first attempt at PhD applications is now coming to a close. Many factors made it a difficult and stressful one, but I'm grateful to have the offers I do. Now it's time to make a decision. I wish everyone here the best of luck.

And did I mention that Duke is a T14 law school?

It was crazy! He applied to nearly 15 schools and was rejected by all but one. He was about to accepted that school's offer and then a prof from Texas called and accepted him---after being rejected. I know of two guys at UC Irvine who experienced something similar.

I hear Texas does something similar. Their reason for doing so is to avoid having to accept student's they've already rejected, which has happened a few times. One current PhD student was rejected initially and then, after Texas burned through their wait list, he was admitted.

More news: a friend of mine today turned down a fully funded offer from SUNY Buffalo.

A friend recently informed me that he declined his Tulane offer and removed himself from their funding wait list. Both he and I hope that others will benefit from the decline.

Keep in mind that Duke is a top ("T14") law school. If they're funding most of it, I'd seriously consider it. The other T14 law schools are: Harvard, Yale, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Chicago, Northwestern, Virginia, Cal Berkeley, Georgetown, Michigan, NYU, and Stanford.

Thank you! I'm in at UCSB but two friends have yet to hear anything. I'd love for one or both of them to be accepted too! I'll inform them that they are now competing with one less person.

Denied from Rochester. Still waiting on Texas (probably rejected). It's hard to believe this process is almost done.

My UCR post is the latest. It was solicited; I emailed yesterday and was told I would hear something "sometime soon." I heard today and the "something" was a rejection.
