Yep I will be (3rd times a charm right?!?) I am also making a list and trying to outline how to make my application more competitive as well (does anyone have ideas besides retaking GRE?). I agree with you slp_2_be the amount of money i spend to send in these applications is crazy, but got to keep trying.

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I am an older student with kids and a husband who cannot just up and move because of his job. I'm working as an SLPA now but ready to move up. I know my GRE/GPA scores are not outstanding but I make up in experiences and qualifications. It’s hard when you get rejection after rejection. Good luck to all of you....maybe 3rd time’s a charm?!?

So it’s my second year applying and I didn’t get in! I know my GRE are not great so should I take them again for a 3rd time? I know my over all GPA is low 2.91 but there are several reason for that and I explain it in my letter of intent. My CSD classes are 3.60 GPA. With that said do I try and sign up for some graduate classes to show I’m capable of doing the work? Or do I spend the rest of the time focusing on my resume? I'm already an SLPA, Highly Qualified special education teacher, Department Chair for special education and volunteer during the summers at a burn camp for kids (something near and dear to my heart). Thanks for any help. What have other people done to get accepted the 2nd or 3rd time around?

I would call them. Like I said last year they never even got back to me that I didn't get in until I called them.

I got a rejection email on 3/19 (but I only applied to the summers only) last year they never got back to me.....What program did you apply to?

Thanks! I was hoping that my background would help get me into the program. I am a highly qualified special education teacher who works with sever kids at their house, SLPA and department chair of the High School special education department. I applied to several schools but have only heard back from NAU. Its hard for me to go anywhere because my family lives here in Arizona, my husband is a fireman and I have two kids. I wish we could pack up and leave just for me to go to school but my options are extremely limited. I guess my best option is going to be talk to NAU and possibly take some grad classes and re-take my GRE. Congrats to everyone who got accepted I hope to meet you guys next year!

Thanks you guys. I took the Princeton review class online it was ok but focused way more on the math. I got a 147 verbal 138 quant and 4 on my aw. This is my 2nd go around with grad school and its not looking good ,so looks like I will be re-taking the GRE (3rd times a charm??)

Can anyone recommend a good word list to study or a GRE book that worked really well for them? Thanks!

Hi guys, I applied to the summers only program and got rejected for a 2nd time. I feel like I'm hitting my head against a block wall. I was wondering if you guys could give me any inside into what you included in your essay and extra experience did you put on your resume? I just feel like I'm getting to old to keep doing this year after year. Thanks for any extra help!

Looking at the GRE scores of the other students and theirs blow my GRE score out of the water. I have taken it three times now and completed an review online and my score still sucks! I do have a documented learning disablity but cant affored to have it updated due to the cost. Any advice on what my next step should be? Should I still spend the money on applying to graduate school or focus on taking the GRE again? How long did everyone study for the GRE and what did they do to prepare? I also should mention I have a full time job as a special education teacher, two kids and work several other small jobs to bring in extra income (one being an SLPA). Thanks for any advice! Hello, I was wondering if anyone is or has apply to Northern Arizona University's summers only program? I'm on pins and needles waiting to find out if I have been accepted. I don't find out until MARCH 31ST!!!!!
