  1. I will accept it for sure, but I am awaiting an answer from Ottawa U and others also, but if Ottawa says yes, I prefer going there as my first language is french. However, not sure what are the main differences between the two schools, I read that Windsor is more research oriented. Ottawa was supposed to give us an answer two months ago, and then postponed the application date to 1st april, not sure why they did this. Anyways, I didn't think I was going to get into any school...so I feel very grateful at this moment. I have a different background and not the highest undergrad GPA, but I guess my letters of recommendation and personal statement were convincing enough?!! And apartments in Windsor region are so much cheaper and there seems to be many placements opportunities there also, so yes for now I am going to accept Windsor as soon as I get the letter this week!! I also accepted an offer for the dist BSW from UVic, so I spot will be free soon for anyone who applied to UVic's dist BSW :)
  2. im sure it does!!!!!!!! CONGRATS Guess we were part of the 'third' wave of acceptance? I'm still not going to believe it until I get a letter in the mail
  3. Hi! Go in your Windsor account (you should have one by now as they e-mailed you your PAC and Student number many weeks ago), then you click on the academics tab and then click applications. Hope it helps.
  4. Same thing for me! Except I have to finish the research course. I'm so happy.
  5. My UWindsor status just changed to provisional acceptance......DOES THIS MEAN WHAT I THINK IT MEANS????? !!!!!!! I thought it was done for windsor as it has been a few weeks since they sent out acceptance offers. Do they send the offer by mail?
  6. Yes 2 year at Laurier - I live in Montreal and got the letter today, it was stamped on 25 March. Good luck!!!!
  7. What is the difference between Orillia Campus and Thunder Bay admission wise? I got refused for Orillia but waitlisted at Thunder Bay. If any of you did the 1 year BSW in Thunder Bay, how did you find your experience there? Is the cost of life expensive? Oh and it's a no from Laurier, I was kind of expecting that
  8. Thank you so much for responding! I am also planning on finishing for the spring 2015, maybe summer 2015, but I was not aware of all the summer courses, I just signed in my uvic account and found that there are plenty of offerings during summer. And the program looks very well run, I'm sold. Looking forward to learning with you I am a volunteer doula on my free time but don't have kids, you are a superwoman my dear, embarking on this journey with 6 kids, I guess I can totally acheive this. Thanks
  9. Hi everyone!!! I also got an e-mail today that I am accepted into the distance program, pretty excited as I applied in a bunch of schools (including MSW), and this brings a light of hope I have a little question as I don't seem to find the answer on the website, it says that the program can be completed in 4 semesters if done full-time, does that mean that it will take a year and a half to complete or two years. Is keeping a part-time job manageable or classes are given during the day (not sure how the whole distance education works!) Also, how many people are in the distance program? Is it a small class? It says that about 400 people apply into the program. Is there a waitlist? I am really happy to be able to complete my studies via distance learning. Sorry for all the questions, and again, congrats to the people who got in
  10. I have yet to receive an e-mail from Windsor or Laurier, assuming I don't get in those. HOWEVER, I did just get an e-mail from UVic (distance BSW), saying that I am accepted. Anyone knows about this program and if it's worth trying to do the BSW route then re-applying for a MSW? Still keeping my fingers crossed for UNBC, however their answer come in end of Mai---ah the wait!! Thank you so much
  11. I'm pretty sure it's by e-mail we will receive the no or the yes - DanielEPS is a member of this forum and got accepted last week into the program via email if I remember well, check in the forum's history and you will see. Oh! and good luck :)
  12. I received also an e-mail from Windsor, saying the following: ''We have now begun to send out offers to the MSW Regular Track program starting in September, 2014. We have sent out our first 30 offers of admission. Each applicant will have two weeks from the date of their letter to either accept or decline the offer. Should an applicant decline, or not respond by the deadline, that offer will then be rescinded and sent to the next ranked applicant. We will continue this process until all 30 positions have been filled.'' I want to think I am on the wait-list and be positive but maybe they don't reject anybody, and it's just a very long wait-list LOL. That said, at least we have a glimmer of hope for the next few weeks! And wow, that was early, probably trying to beat Laurier for the first pics
  13. Yes, this seems to have changed recently. They are sending out the acceptance offers tomorrow for those who applied before the initial date (15 jan). The program is only offered in french and here is what they have to say about it: Langue du programme La langue du programme, y compris celle de la supervision des mémoires et des stages, est le français. Maybe you could e-mail the department and ask if they make exceptions? Do you think they changed the date because they didn't get enough admissions into the program? If so, that makes me happy, as I HOPE I will get in Oh and I'm french, and I sent my letter of intent in french, but my CV was in english, as I was way to lazy to translate it just for one school, and I assume, they won't have any problem as they are supposed to encourage that type of attitude (bilingualism...not laziness)
  14. I applied to the MSW at Ottawa U (however it's only given in french), they are supposed to send out their answers no later than 10 march. I have not heard from Dal! I am applying into BSW as they don't accept non-BSW candidates for the MSW.
