  1. I didn't bother to update my signature until now, but here it is:
  2. Yes! I looked up the phone number. I am trying to be patient. And what's up with FAQ answer about response time on ND's website: Q. Who makes the admissions decisions for the M.T.S. Program? A. An official letter about the admissions decision for the coming year will arrive later this month from the Graduate School in two to three weeks.” to “An official letter about the decision will usually be sent to you by the end of March. Looks like two sentences got pasted together accidently.
  3. I was also admitted late last night to Marquette's MA. Taycross, did you get any information about funding? I was told that the decision, in my case, is still pending. Did anyone else get into Marquette and get news on funding?
  4. Hi all, I've been lurking around this forum for awhile without posting. I wanted to let you know that I got a voicemail from Duke's admissions office, and I've been admitted to the M.Div. program. I wanted to ask if funding decisions had been made, but I was away from my phone when the call came. If anyone else has gotten in or knows anything about funding decisions for the M.Div., please post! Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
  5. Hi all, I am new to posting here, but I have been lurking around for awhile. My thanks to anyone who applied to an M* program last year. I've learned quite a bit about the process from you. Onto the question: Does anyone have a rough idea of what percentage of MDiv admits/students at PTS get the 80% PTS Grant? I am not Presbyterian, so I think 80% is the highest level of aid for which I am eligible. I am trying to figure out if I am applying to even one school where I have more than a 10% chance of getting full or close to full funding. I am also applying to MTS programs at Notre Dame, Yale, and Duke. From the information on their websites and here, it seems that very few students receive significant aid of the sort I would need in order to attend. I know that Notre Dame funds everyone whom they accept, but, from my understanding, they accept only about 10% of their applicants. Thanks!
  6. Congratulations to the Columbia acceptance who posted today! You did the impossible! Would you mind sharing your sub-field?

  8. I am a little confused… About two weeks ago, I emailed Columbia’s gsas because I was concerned about my Application Status Form showing no indication that my app had made it to the English Department. Columbia informed me a few days later (Feb. 15) that everything was at the department and under review. But, my app status form didn’t change to reflect this until yesterday. I guess it doesn’t matter. I just want to know when to brace for rejection!
  9. Hi all – Has anyone heard of phds.org? It has stats for job placement and time to completion for numerous English PhD programs. However, I can’t find a clear articulation of how the site’s authors got their data or the methodology they used to interpret it. I am a little suspicious because there are some programs that I thought had decent reputations but, according to the site, have horrendous numbers. If the numbers on the site are accurate, phds.org may be one of the most useful tools I have stumbled across for evaluating a program. It certainly provides more helpful information than the US News rankings. Does anyone one know anything about this? By the way, I am a complete newbie to the gradcafe, so if I missed a prior discussion about this in the literature and language forum, please just point me in the right direction.
