  1. Just got into FES! Financial info will be sent starting next Friday, the 14th.
  2. I wouldn't say that it is inherently bad to try to use your acceptances to leverage a response. For example, one of the schools I applied to is about a month behind most of the other major schools in this field in terms of its admissions calendar (i.e. they might release decisions in late March/April when most of the other schools do in late Feb/March), so they sent out an e-mail last week saying that they are currently reviewing apps and to please "inform them of any admissions offers". Clearly, they don't want students to go ahead and commit to other schools whether due to impatience or simply thinking that they would probably get rejected because it was taking so long, so they are willing to expedite the process by request.
  3. Also, I just got the financial aid info posted to WolverineAccess today. It essentially just repeats what I was already offered in my letter, plus it tells me what Federal loans and Work-Study I was approved for. Unfortunately, I wasn't awarded any additional free money
  4. Ah, I see. I actually received the information about the fellowship in the mail, so you should keep checking that. Assuming yours is the same as mine, 10k of it is tuition going towards your first year, and 5k is the "fellowship" to be paid to you by your advisor for your work over the course of the 2 years.
  5. Hey guys, I'll just join in the fun as well to help pass the time! (which hopefully won't be longer than 24 hours now, for FES at least...) Program Applied To: M.S., MESM, MEM (might like to switch to MESc, however) Schools Applied To: Michigan, UCSB, Yale Schools Accepted To: Michigan ($15k academic leadership fellowship) Undergraduate Institution: Berkeley Undergraduate Major: History Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 3 Years of Work Experience: 3 Describe Relevant Work Experience: 2 years of working in energy/transportation policy at a large environmental NGO (writing, research, legislative work, GIS analysis and mapping, administrative work, budgeting). Before that, one year working at a law firm as a legal clerk. My situation is a bit more complicated. Since my work experience has largely been focused on policy, I applied for the policy concentrations at each school since that made me a much stronger applicant (i.e., I already had experience in the field and was already on a specific track and motivated). Howevever, my interest really lies in conservation biology/ecology and my intention is to switch over to that once I enroll at whichever school. The package that Michigan SNRE offered me, however, includes a $5k fellowship that was awarded by the adviser they assigned me (in the policy concentration). Therefore, I'm fairly sure I'll lose this fellowship when I switch concentrations. So, definitely a little concerned about that, since I really need the $$, but I'll cross that bridge when I figure out where I want to go..
