I was just thinking about that my self. While it would be awesome for them to hit as early as the 13th, I am not holding my breath. So I am hoping for the 13th but expecting the 16th. Yale's should be in the mail soon as well.

Thanks it is great being accepted, but it is awful now having to wait to find out the funding/scholarship offers as well! I wish they would just do it all at once.

Just received my acceptance from Claremont School of Theology.

I got into KU!

Called Claremont School of Theology. They will be releasing their results at the end of this week or towards the beginning of the next apparently.

What else am I going to do? Get a normal job? Pffft

Apparently so. I have been told by previous HDS students they got the news around the 12th-15th.

On the subject of partial funding, I think it really depends what your previous situation was going into graduate school, what sort of career you are looking at, and how you plan on paying it back. My wife is urging me to choose the debt-free option, not matter what the school is. That does concern me a little, for example, if Harvard lets me in with 50% but KU offers me a full ride... that is a tough trade off. However, I would ask all those sorts of common sense questions.

Okay get this. I called Duke Divinity School again and apparently whoever I spoke to was way off. "At this rate we are expecting to hand out results for admission around March 20th."

Still kicking myself for missing their cut off date.

Does anyone have any idea when Claremont School of Theology hands out its letters of acceptance/rejection?

I am not sure. I am hoping this will include the MTS ones as that is the program I have applied to, but the woman on the phone did not specify.

I called yesterday inquiring, because I just received my rejection email from Duke University, so I was curious on their time frame. The woman on the phone informed me that they were hoping to have they out before the start of the weekend. So apparently it will be happening soon.

I am liking the looks of Abilene Christian University's MA in New Testament. Only thing really holding me back is that I am an agnostic-atheist. I am not really "open" about this or anything, as I do not think my philosophical views about God should really matter, but I am curious if people have any comments.

Hey everyone. I am looking to get into the MA program at the University of Chicago's Divinity School. I am trying to figure out some of the "must haves" but I was wondering if anyone had any insights about the school, the staff, and admissions in general. What are expected GRE scores like? Is it really that expensive compared to others? What about funding? And if you go, do you like it?

What degree? M.A./M.T.S. What area? The New Testament and Christian Origins/Biblical Languages Do you know where? KU, Duke, Yale Divinity School, Harvard Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Graduate Theological Union What have you already done to prepare? I have been focusing my attention with my Masters of Theological Studies supervisors in making my research assignments good enough for peer review and submitting them around the place. I have also planned a campus tour at KU, and I have approached my supervisors already about letters of recommendations and such. I have also slowly started working on my Statement of Purpose during my Winter break. What are you working on now? Was Marcion a Gnostic?: A Study into the Relationship between Second Century Gnosticism and Marcion of Sinope & The Quest for the Mythical Jesus: A Study and Review of Richard Carrier's On the Historicity of Jesus as well as something to do with the Reception History of the Apocalypse of Paul And what else do you need to do between now and September when the application cycles actually open up? I need to prepare for the GRE, start studying what they are expecting out of me and what I can expect from the test its self. Of course I need to finalise my Statement of Purpose as well. Beyond that, get my final papers in, kick ass in my final subjects, and move to America and get married to the love of my life and get my Alien Resident Number sorted!
